Manuel Delaflor
Problem with definitions is that what some individual will consider "bright and detailed" another one will consider "harsh and colored". I do not believe that subjective accounts are really valuable. On the other hand, Im not an "objectivist" either, I consider that actual measurements only account for a small number of the variables involved. So, in a way, I would encourage to any possible buyer to hear by himself, and read only to have an informed opinion on what he is listening. But Never to make a decision. artto
Just wanted to thank those of you who participated. I've forwarded your comments to my friend/editor in Japan. The article will appear in Audio Basic (Japan), probably this winter. Shikano wrote: "Since I am still thinking about how to write my article concerning the difference between Japanese audiophile and the US ones in expression on sound (seems conceptionally different and the emphasis seems different...), your kind investigation will help me a lot to further my thinking....Actually reply of the US audiophile seems very interesting and worth to analize them..... thanks again for your sending me very interesting research result. I will keep you posted."
jt1stcav
Man, I would love to read that article. I would assume that audiophiles throughout the civilized world would describe the sound of their systems the same way...if not, the differences would be quite amusing, to say the least.
