Nice pad. However, I think a harman kardon would look better in your rack that your pioneer. 9.gif

Okay, I have gear envy. But that is not a home theater. That is nice gear, yes. Home theater, no. I don't want to sound like a snob because you have some nice stuff there - nicer than what I have. But if you want home theater, you will need to build, well, a HOME THEATER. (sample) I don't have one. Many, if not most posters here, don't have one either. I have home a entertainment center as you do also. The theater experience just is not there.

I know I will get criticized for this, but so be it. I just think the distinction needs to be made to distinguish those who are fortunate enough to have the means for the full blown home theater experience from those of use who are just trying to have great sound and video equipment with which to enjoy movies.

Ear - hehe, you can see me actually, I am standing in the 3rd pic, my wife is taking the pics on the floor 1.gif I will be getting my new SVS's Tuesday. My current PC+ is the left of the front stage, it's kinda of across the hallway area. My dual setup is going in the corner next to the RF-5 in this pic...

Should give out some serious db's with them there together, can't wait!!

m00n - hehe, porn palace is what a friend referred to it as, I like the dark red curtains, black leather couches, zebra rug, etc 9.gif As for the HK, haha, that Elite sure looks sweet doesn't it? 11.gif

damon - I don't want to move it to the bedroom, for one, my wife would not be cool with that, and second I don't have the money or don't want to buy long cable to run from that room. I am hoping my next house will have more room to deal with. The RF-7's demand some serious room 3.gif

Klipschfoot - Of course it's not a "Home Theatre" in that sense, I will eventually have a basement in a house that will just be dedicated for that true blue HT room, with the chairs, stage, etc. I just consider this the next best thing, it's the main room that we watch movies and whatnot. There are a few that do have the dedicated HT room (m00n, etc) they are lucky to have the extra room or space to dedicate that. I for now have to rely on my great room for the use, but it's my mini-ht you could say, definitely better than the movie theatres in my mind 9.gif Thanks for the compliments though, no offense taken, everyone has their own opinions on that stuff, it's all good.

Oh, great and shining Moon, "no." But seeing YOUR efforts to achieve a real home theater experience, would you say this poster's arsenal even nears your labor of love? Home entertainment is not the same as home theater. Though I think some entertainment systems can sound as nice as, if not better than, some real theaters, I think the distinction should be made.

BTW, I simply Googled up "home theater" images only and I got plenty of entertainment centers also. That is just the way this stuff is marketed. But if you talk to a home theater installer, he would probably side with my perspective. If not, he is more interested in selling you gear with at a margin of markup rather than building you the real deal.

Good question. For me, the beauty of my theater is that I have done it all myself. From tearing down the very first wall to laying the carpet, indeed it really has been a labor of love (and pain) and there is a real satisfying feeling about that. I don't think I would trade that for having someone come in and make it all pretty. 4.gif

Nice stuff there u have, Orange Peel.

I tried to put my front speakers near the walls, and they just don't sound as well as 2 feets away from either side / back wall.

How do your speakers sound ? Since they are awfully close to both walls.

I just can't imagine how big the room will be if one needs a 60 inch screen, another 15 for equipments, another 60 inches space for both speakers. Man, u will need aprox 12 feet wide room.

Thanks Yada, they actually sound amazing, never knew they would be effected by being next to a wall. I know the sound would suffer being too close behind by the ports. I have a good 1-2 feet behind them, I know I could use more but it's all I got. And as for the sizes, I have a 65" TV so that's even more room needed by your calculations. My room is about 25' wide, but that area where everything is it is more like 18' maybe, not sure, never really measured it, but it's a good guess I am sure 9.gif Thanks again for the compliments.
