Jon Anderson
Does anyone on the forum know about pie logo placement? My 1965 Khorns have pie logo in right hand corners (sequential serial numbers and orginal grill cloth). Yet I see photo's on the forum with mirror image placement. Is there any method to the madness? BEC
Can't tell you where they "should" go but perhaps I can give you a reason why you see them in different places. I recently bought a pair of 1967 Lascalas from their original owner. Neither of them had a logo installed. When I got them home and looked them over one of them had an envelop inside the back. Inside the envelope was a new (never installed) pie slice logo with 2 new nails. I guess the other envelope was lost at some time during a move since it was not in the other speaker. Looks like at least at that time Klipsch left installation of the logo to the owner. Bob
Daddy Dee
Good question. On my '73 khorns, they are mirror image. Don't know what the actual standard should be. BEC's post makes me wonder if it was always user defined.
Jon Anderson
DD - the picture of your horns got me thinking. I can't imagine that folks from Hope would leave that up to the new owner - they don't let owner decide on the rectangular logo. Why on the pie? Know any orginal owners of pre 1974'ish horns that could wheigh in?
ZAKO
Mine were packed in a seperate envelope. I left mine off.
garymd
My '72 heresys were mirror image but I don't know who installed them.
IndyKlipschFan
When klipsch used the pie shaped logos, they were plastic. As opposed to the brass logo being originally real brass. I think it made more sense in the packing to send them separate to avoid them getting crushed or pushed into the cloth. This is my understanding why they were sent differently too. mungkiman
'73 La Scalas, mirror image. I am not the original owner, so it doesn't mean much. For those with "loose" pies, are there nail holes already in the plastic? Mine have nails in the top 2 corners of the "home plate" at the bottom of the pies. BEC
Yes, the one I have which was never installed has the holes where you describe. Bob
jt1stcav
Maybe Klipsch left the installation of the pie-slice logos up to the owners at first, and then installed them in later productions. When I owned my Magnepans, the metal "Magneplanar" logos came in a tiny ziplock bag for the user to install (I left them off).
