bdc
... and it sounds just wonderful. Definitely way better than the Pioneer RX that I replaced. The highs just sound a lot better, before it sounded as if the tweeters on my Fortes were not working. But now, everything is really clear and more life-like. However, the left channel cuts out every once in a while and if I turn the balance all the way to left I can faintly hear music. The channel usually turns back on after a while, though. Will a simple cleaning fix this? The volume control is not scratchy at all. Also, if I push down the mono toggle the left channel works. JohnWhite
I agree, I got my HK 430 just about a week or so ago, Very sweet. I get a bit of crackle till it warms up but then everything works fine. Now I can't wait till my Scott LK 72 gets here.

marting
You may also want to clean the tape monitor switch(es). When the channel drops out try switching the tape monitor on and off a few times. If the channel comes back you've found the problem. garymd
If you're going to clean switches, just clean them all. If one needs it, chances are they all do or will soon.
