Take down those strange glow in the dark posters on the ceiling!

Get a haircut and get a real job and buy some decent music with

money you will EARN from now on and dont tell me there are

no jobs or Ill show you a lawnmower, rake and shovel all with

your name on the handles. Do you hear me? I said do you hear me!

'Just remember, according to the DMCA it is not illegal to download anything, it is merely illegal to upload anything."

Show some evidence that it isn't illegal to download entire songs/albums from the internet. It's breaking copyright laws. It doesn't matter if you are uploading music or downloading it. It is not covered under fair use, since you are not using an excerpt, or using it for some other purpose (there are a couple...parody.. that you might be able to get away with for awhile..). Now, in the current situation noone is going to get in trouble for downloading (or uploading) a few songs. The RIAA is going after the massive trading that goes on.

Remember when we had dual cassette recorders and still do some of us. We would make copy's for people all the time and it was no big deal. Same thing just glorified. Actually i am not gonna get into it because it can help and it can hurt at the same time. It will help the talented and hurt the crappy artist.

Album sales are not falling due to illegal music transfers.

Many REAL artists don't mind, even praise, music downloads as it helps plublicity.

Most artists illegally transfer music because they are too "cheap" or lazy to buy it.

Microsoft includes ripping into their media player, i.e. allowing the making of unauthorized copies of copyrighted music.

KazaaLite has been featured on TechTV. The comercial use of this product is "strictly prohibited".

Almost all music on peer-to-peer came from an actual album at some point.

To play music on many higher-end stereo equipment, music needs to be in CDA format, or simply CD's

I'm listening to an album right now. (Toxicity, System of a Down)

Technicly the act of transfering (uploading) is illegal.

ALL copied albums must be destroyed in 24 hours under law.

"ALL copied albums must be destroyed in 24 hours under law."

Another urban legend posing as fact. The whole "you have 24 hours" line is complete and utter fabrication. It is illegal. You do not have 24 hours. It is always illegal. However, ALL copied albums aren't illegal. Fair use still does come into play, for example making a copy for myself for backup. Or a copy so I can listen to it in the car, as well as at home.

How's that any different? And how can they prove you didn't lose the originals after you copied it? If that's the case. You don't have to answer that actually it's a good aliby1.gif
