shload
Any thoughts on these? Since I'm in the Harrisburg area they are close to me. Sent a note to see if they can be seen and heard before auction end. Anything I should be on the lookout for? Thanks Joe http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3084276375&category=61378
BackBurner
Nope !! If they sound good and look good then chances are there just fine. Just watch out the dudes not checking out your *** when you go over for a listen.
Piranha
Those look pretty darned clean for 83's. Ask to go look at and audition them.
3dzapper
One thing to do is put your ear to the tweeters and be sure they are working. It's no big deal to repair them if you can use a screwdriver and have about $60 for a pair of diaphrams. It's just good not to get suprises after you buy them if you know what I mean. jnorv
It looks like he only has one unless he has another auction or I am reading it wrong. Jim N
GRB
Those bad boys look pretty darn clean.
space_cowboy
You're not on the road yet? Go get them if the price is right for you. Piranha and I both scored a pair a couple of weeks ago, best purchase I've probably ever made. Do listen to the tweeters, one pair I auditioned had both blown and the seller didn't even know it (or so was the claim), but not a real biggie to fix as pointed out. The quantity in the ad does say 1, but he lists 2 serials #'s, so it's probably a pair. You should get these if the deal is right and you feel comfortable with it. Tom Mobley
I see: PAIR KLIPSCH LA SCALA SPEAKERS UNFINISHED NICE! and: Here are a pair of Klipsch La Scala three way speakers and: These speakers have consecutive serial numbers of 31Y198 and 199 Doesn't look like an issue to me. Piranha
Did you buy them yet? You'll be listening to them all weekend if you did.
IndyKlipschFan
Look great to me too... Unfinished in raw birch....light sanding ( keep em this way too...) look fantastic!!! They should go for 800-1000 in this condition easy!!
shload
Hope to see them maybe on Sunday. Reserve is over 1,000. I also have the chance to maybe get a pair of Mcintosh MC60 and a C22 with local pick-up. Too much available at the same time!! Joe
3dzapper
Joe, IMHO: Grab the Mac's! Then wait for a pair of Klipschorns to come up nearby. Rick
tubelover
Then buy a pair of Cornwall. They are a better speaker soundwise than a La Scala.
