3dzapper
Here it is just waiting for you to send it to NOS for an upgrade: http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?vintelec&1102350696 It is in New Jersey and I have no knowledge about this except I saw it on A'gon just now. NOSValves
I emailed the seller with a offer with no response. I wish the pictures were better but $250 isn't a bad price for what IMHO is the best 7591 amp Scott ever made. Craig
NOSValves
Oh and anyone that wants this amp don't feel you have to hold back because I offered something for it. If you want it go for it. It's not like I need it. Craig
hwatkins
Yo Craig - keep me in the loop if you get it. I may be interested after your refurb. While I find my Fisher still entertaining, past listening to Sheltie Daves Scott has always left me thinking that my next project may need to include a fun time with components. NOSValves
I have a LK72 which is the Kit version all ready rebuilt and ready to go I've been using it for over a month in my living room nice dark brown faced version kind of the Mc look. I also have a 299C that I should have from another source in a few weeks. So whether this guy replies or not is no big deal. Craig

3dzapper
Henry, How many letters do you have to send out whenever you have a board meeting? All you have to do is call the seller and have him ship it to Craig. You won't see it until it has been transformed and blissful. NOSValves
Henry, The seller took my offer of $250 shipping included. If you want it speak now or forever hold your peace LOL !! Other wise I'm going to turn it down since I just scored 6 different amplifiers on a trade for a set of VRD's I really can not afford to invest in this one. neo33
"but $250 isn't a bad price for what IMHO is the best 7591 amp Scott ever made." I beg to differ but (IMO), the 7189 design is better then the 7591. And hence (IMO), the 299B is the best (ever made) of Scott 200 integrated stereo amps series. NOSValves
I think there is no best ! I think its a matter of tone and preference. I prefer the 7189 amps for there tone but I also love the extra umph of the 7591 amps and of them the 299C is my absolute favorite because it wasn't compromised by powered center channel and numoruos other useless bells and whistles smearing its stereo seperation. Its the closest 7591 amp to a 299B Craig
neo33
"I think there is no best !" But you did state that the 299C "IMHO is the best 7591 amp Scott ever made." . And I thought only Senator Kerry is flip-flopping. .
T2K
I agree with Graig, preference prevails. I much prefer my 233 with Chorus'. The extra power tidies up the bass and I can stand the upper detail provided by Tele 12AX7's, too much at the top with my 222-C. But then, I like them both. I liked them even better when they worked. Kudret
I already have 299,299B and 299C. I prefer 7189 tubes and especially 299B. Kudret

neo33
"He's not flip-flopping" I was only messing with Craig. But he did use the phrase "is the best". Then later he changed to the phrase "is no best". I don't seem to recall the rest. .

Dylanl
I have a 299B that Craig reworked for me. I think I have a quad set of Sovoteks. The 2 centers are GE. The front 4 Westinghouse. What would be a good upgrade in tubes/ price. What are the 7189's that were mentioned.
