weggy
my heresy2 speaker's sound is just wrong all of sudden. only one speaker's ,I think , the high or mid range speaker is sound not right but I'm not sure which one is wrong. I changed the speaker cable of the amp, but sound is the same. So I think this is not my amp's problem. I don't have this problem , when I listen it at lower volume. Could you help how to fix or change the network?
jeffgeorge
Could be a blown tweeter. You can get replacements from Klipsch, or you could do as I did and replace the tweeter diaphram. That option is about half the cost of a new tweeter.
weggy
Is it probably the tweeter problem? not the network? tweeter is weaker than midrange? and could you tell me how to change the tweeter diaphram? what will happen that broke? and what diaphram should I use for my heresy2? my problem is one of the speaker is sound like echo or vibration. sorry about so many questions. I'm so Newbie.
AceDeuce
The instructions come with the replacement diaphragm. It's a piece of cake. Just three nuts to take off. And it's a LOT cheaper than a new tweeter.
weggy
Now I think the mid-range is the problem. I say the sound from the mid-range is like some weird vibration at high volume. Is it still diaphram problem or the network? because I've read some of old post about diaphrams. most of their symptoms are no sound at all. am I right? anyway the sound is still out from the mid. but distorted. How to take out the mid-range from heresy2. I can't disconnect the midrange from the speaker... Please help me out Newbie!!! thank you in advance
ricktate
Wow wait a minute....check all wires going to crossover and midrange loosen and retighten all conetions...re solder mid range if you have to. The midrange is one tuff cookie not going bad like that i dont think...Rick
garymd
Sounds like one or more of your drivers need to be tightened. Open the back and check. Its happened to me before with my heresys. You may be suprised how easy a fix it is.
scriven
I didn't think the back opened on the H II. Don't the drivers mount from the front?
weggy
I can't open the back. this is the file that I recorded from the heresy. you will here the distortion that I'm taking about. I recorded this sound my amp set to 0 bass and 0 treble. the other speaker does not have distortion. please give me any suggestion or soliution for this problem. thanks. heresy2.zip
garymd
Sorry, forgot. DOH! My Heresy 1 did have a loose woofer at one time and it vibrated with the volume turned up which is why I suggested you check. Probably not the case with the 2s. Unhook the horns one at a time to see which is the culprit. Shouldn't be a big deal.
ricktate
I still think its just bad connection in wiring,,,just pull the woofer out to get to wires loosen and re-tighten all connetions on crossover....then try it if still there look at soldered connections on drivers,,,easy to do this first,,,,if it was a diaphram i think it would just stop working.Rick
weggy
thanks for the all postings. Could you tell me how to take out the network, I tried once but I can't take it out from the back, I unscrewed all screws at speaker connector but network circuitry seems bigger than the hole. BTW what if the distortion is due to the diaphragm, where I can get the diaphragm? thanks again
ricktate
You have to take it out through the woofer hole easy to do ,i would still wait on doing diaphrams i think its the wiring if it sounded ok one day and the next day different...Rick
