Klipsch KG4--how much power do you need?

I'm seriously considering buying a pair of KG4s for a two channel system. I've been reading through the archive posts today and it seems like many people are recommending very powerful SS amps. I was hoping to try a nice 20-40 wpc tube integrated--or a restored vintage Marantz 2230, 2218 etc. At 94 dB sensitivity, shouldn't this be more than enough in a 12 x 20 room? Music is jazz and rock (not metal).

You will enjoy your speakers using a 20-40W tube amp.

You may even like a SET amp (2-3W) depending on what kind of music you listen to.

If the sensitivity was 88 then you would need either a lot Watts or high current to make them sing.

This is the great thing about Klipsch, they don't eat your watts.

Welcome, can't type too well-pulled shoulder muscle but I have kg 3/5's and 5.2's and can drive them with a restored Scott 299 (about 15 watts per channel and fisher 50c (more power can't remember how much). Unless your into total rock at horrendous volumnes tubes will drive these babies very well wihtout the fatigue and harshness of ss.

Go Orange from a former Syracusan.
