Born2RockU
Ah ...the gym. Replacing one "terrible" addiction w/ a "healthy" addiction was the way I recovered 8 years ago. It is still on going, ...one day at a time. Being a full-blooded muscian, I bet you can imagine the temptations that occurs on a nightly basis. The gym and healthy-eating has SAVED my life. *** Get in the gym and show the world what type of man you have become? *** ~ Rock the world, brotha ~
grillecloth
There is no graduation from dependency. There is no ability for strangers to intervene when you make veiled comments. Are you still going to meetings and have you contacted your sponsor??? You say what you are doing but how do we know you are. You should not be making comments from behind the mask of a computer screen. You should be talking with your sponsor or a trained mental health and Dependency specialist. Maybe your own Doctor. Man you sound like you need some testing. There are all of these enzymes and chemicals in our body push those babies out of whack and that could be where your head's at. Look whay you're doing calling attention to yourself to a lotta people sitting alone and playing on your computer alone. Dude get your sponsor and don't tell us what you think we want to hear or cry for attention. Your meetings are wherever you are not here. The first step is admitting you have a monkey now read what is before about wisdom change that you with God on your side and he ain't taking no steps forward until you do. Get a physical call your sponsor get up and get to the meetings bro. You want words prayers or sympathy well you been getting them now don't let the folk here that know you down you've been asking it lookies like they been giving now prove yourself to them. That starts by proving yourself to you no sitting and waiting for it to happen. I read your lead and pages you received hours with a counseler free you made others face things and ther keepin on do it yourself. The man is alongside you just witing for you to show that your out to beat it. do it.
colterphoto1
Thanks for the support gang. Did 7 am mtg, had DR visit yesterday, buddy comes over soon to work out with me (little home gym in basement) got the bike tires fixed this am. Then noon meeting and the day can commence! It does take some time and patience, but I'm slowly filling the void with other interests. It is working- I just use this Forum to blow off some steam, maybe I should spend less time typing and more pumping iron, so you're right recent posters! So my sponser takes my to lunch yesterday to celebrate 60 days and beginning of 4th step work. We sit down and our waiter appraised our burly status and proclaims "so what'll it be guys, SHOTS OF JACK for lunch"? I about spit out my gum, we laugh and order diet Cokes and he leaves. I tell sponser "dude, I was gonna let you do the talkin- I went DIRECTLY to the Serenity Prayer". Program in action. I'm getting it. I plan on being in much better shape by the Pilgrimage so I can kick the butt of anyone who disagrees with my acoustical theories! Not gonna take any guff from you young whippersnappers from lalaland How's THAT! Michael
Marvel
Methinks Mr. Johnston doesn't really quite get it. ... even though we don't really know what is going on, I think Michael has been honest enough with us so that type of harangueing doesn't do much good. Of course, he could be lieing to us, but I don't think so. It would be of absolutely no use to him. It's easier to honest with us than with a neighbor or co-worker. Hang in there and keep up the fight Michael.

With some it's a chemical imbalance, vitamins, enzymes, chemicals made in the body, but not enough of some. Lady was meeting to death, finally got a good exam Doc had been through the program. A prescription took care of it. but I ain't saying he's lying, but though not in The Book He helps those who help themselfs. I fall back no saint. What I mean is were all giving him prayers looking inside us and telling about the rats inside. Maybe I'm not getting it, don't know ain't calling him a liar though. Sitting behind the screen too much; not good; but he hadn't mentioned sponsor, now he has. I like happy endings a physical and some tests may help I'm not God I just know He stands along side us or sometimes in front waiting for us to catch up. I saw something that I thought differently about - maybe hurting himself. He meant his business my mix up which I do say thanks for the clearing. Bless you for the 60 its hard like a bear hug. Sometimes you have to shake it off and say I did this thing today. Be proud. Sometimes your in a hole and don't know it until you get pushed down more. Then the inner fight comes out. So if i got it wrong, I hope its right now. I sprained my wrist this morning so my typing and thinking are a little on that no biggie. Moving a Washer the other guy slipped nd it caught me holding. All the wisdom is gonna come from up there. You have buds here. 60 days. thats good. Somebody said try having older helpers. That's wisdom then more can pass on skills. Keep your chin up if you fall, stand up and know your human. Start again not upset with yourself Good Luck Dude He's with you and your with you. That's 2 in touch and all the people here. Tom Mobley
how well I remember my sponsor, Bert Sanders RIP. A gentle kind and loving man. He used to say such wonderful, kind and loving things to me, like: "Tom, if the world looks brown it's probably because you've got your head UP YOUR A$$, as usual." or "Tom, the Good Lord has given you two heads, for thinking, use the one up top." and "Tom, a stiff prick is a wonderful thing, but it was never meant to USED FOR A COMPASS you idiot." Guy was a riot. I never would have made it through those hard days in '81-'82 if he hadn't taken an interest in me. He had to be dedicated, cause there wasn't much left of me to take an interest in. He had emphysema and would just run out of wind right in the middle of reaming me a new one for my latest exploits and have to sit down. I love you Bert, wherever you are. He literally dragged me out of a gutter and spent two years of his life rebuilding me into something resembling a person.
colterphoto1
That's beautiful Tom, I just met my Great-Great Grandsponser last week. The entire line of guys are still active in the same area Club and I can identify with each one in various ways. Knowing that there's 70+ years of total sobriety behind me gives me strength. Tom Mobley
I never met a grand-sponsor but I did have three sponsors during the first five years. I couldn't have made it without them. There's one I still keep in touch with, he's somehow gotten to where he can make a living building violins, violas and cellos in a remote area of southern Oregon. Beats me..... Marvel
Michael, I was in Indy a couple of weeks ago and was thinking of you. Had my youngest down at the University of Indianapolis for music auditions. It isn't his first choice, but is still on the list (Valparaiso is first). Wabted to find you but we just didn't have time. colterphoto1
Marvel, Wished you'd stopped in. Still moving stuff around a bit, but the main system is pretty much a go. Looks like a used speaker warehouse here. Maybe if ya come in for the Pilgrimage... Michael
space_cowboy
Michael, I posted something similar a few months ago as you and this forum know. Seems like you may be back on track. I'm not totally there yet, but working towards it. Keep it up Colter.... Space aka Mark
