lynnm
Weatherstripping putty may not be a good choice. I tried using it and found that it tended to sag and fall away from the horn. I switched to the butyl rubber and did not have that problem and more than a year later the butyl rubber tape is still adhering well without sagging. 3dzapper
"What I would like to know is it possible to disconnect the driver from the horn and dip/coat the horn in rubber/neopreen inside and out and of course masking off areas which do not need it. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts or concerns?' ricky588, Don't do anything to the inside that will alter it's demensions. The horn rate of flare will change and it's frequency response. The outside of the horn is not critical, do anything.
ricky588
Thanks for the heads up. I guess I will stick to deadening the outside and look at the P-Trap as it can certainly get harsh at times. The Butyl rubber tape I hear about, where can I get it from and does it work better or worse than the caulking?
