Dean, You Out There?

BEC

Recommended Posts

Charles, I can't read email from my SBC account at work, and didn't get a good start on it until late last night. I didn't notice the PM until I read your post.

How about an even swap?

Bob, lol, what did those come out of?

Dean,

I was wondering that same thing. The other one from the other crossover, though, measures about 14 uF and is marked the same and the same physical size.

By the way, these are from a 1974 set of Belles.

They were original. I have seen a bewildering variety of caps used by Klipsch in the crossovers. In fact most of the ones people call "motor runs" that are in these crossovers are only rated at 100 volts. Not much of a motor if that is a motor run cap.

Dean,

I know you are fond of yellow caps and thought you might want these that came from an original Klipsch Type AA.

For what it's worth, I owned a 1975 pair of Cornwalls that used exactly the same yellow caps.

Bob and Dean

Those are the exact components that came on my original type AA 1975 Klipschorns.

I went with the newer type AA 1980 and wish I would have saved those old parts.

Some day Bob dont know when, Im running a 7 band eq for the moment.

Prabably just fooling myself again.

Jim,

Don't worry about not saving those caps. Truly some of the worst I have ever encountered. The one being tested in the picture would have acted like a 48 ohm resistor in series with the tweeter.
