FS - Forte II, Oil Oak, Boston area

Sadly I must part with my Forte II's...I simply don't have the proper space to use them (I'm keeping the KG3.2s to keep the Klipsch heritage.). I am the original owner, they have been driven by Yamaha amps all their life, and not abused. They are in excellent shape, no damage to speaker components (like the crushed rear on one of the flea-bay listings right now). Cabinets are also in excellent condition. I would prefer a local pick-up, but will ship at cost for materials and postage. I can e-mail specific pictures to anyone who would like them, I'll also post a couple here once I get them downloaded off the digital cam.

These speakers have been great to me over the years I've had them, but I just need something smaller, and sadly not likely as rich sounding. :(

Anyway, that's the deal, I'm asking $700 as they are in excellent shape. Price is negotiable...

Any questions, e-mail me as I'll check that more often than this message board. I could meet someone within reasonable driving distance if that works.

Thanks for the tip on the audigon site, I'll check that out.

As for the price, well it is much easier to negotiate down than up on price. Is it set in stone, no, but it is a fair starting point for speakers that are in excellent condition. Ebay listings show some sold in that range too. I do appreciate the feedback though. 1.gif

That and his asking price is on the high side and in Cornwall territory.

By the way, I am right here, no need to use the third person.

In response to this I did a little bit of ebay research.

Cornwall completed auctions:

Pair 1 - $850 with minor cosmetic damage

Pair 2 - $455 (reserve not met) for dirty speakers that have an obvious liquid spill stain on them as well as some damage to the trim on the front of the speakers. Hardly what I would call "excellent" condition as the seller claims. These look pretty abused to me.

Pair 3 - $745 (reserve not met)

Now for the Forte II completed auctions:

Pair 1 - $555 for very dirty, and potentially moldy grills (and who knows what the interior is like if the exterior is in poor shape). Mine have never seen a basement.

Pair 2 - $521 for a pair with two crushed rear cones.

Pair 3 - Opening bid $687, no bids, perhaps because the seller described them as "minty". 3.gif

Pair 4 - $790, but includes ~$100 (per sellers estimate) in cables.

Pair 5 - $500 (this pair seems to be an anomaly - good condition, and a low price).

Pair 6 - $484, and a whole slew of stains from using it as a drink table.

Pair 7 - $282 all banged up cabinets, replacement/mismatched components.

Pair 8 - $462 Another case of a crushed rear cone, and a chunk out of the cabinet.

So, there you have it, this is not an exhaustive list, and before someone comes out of the woodwork with a pair in "like new" condition for $25, this is just to illustrate what I used as data to price mine. You are getting a pair of speakers in excellent condition that will last a lifetime if not abused like some of the ebay examples. Again, any questions, feel free to ask. 1.gif

A very nice pair for local pick up in boston went for 430 on ebay this winter. Since I live in Texas, but have a friend in Boston who was willing to hold them for me if I won at a worthwhile price to make the drive home, I bid low on them. Your new price of 600 is at least competitive. They have also gone, very quickly on audiogon for 500, alas, I was late on those and they were within a days drive.

I can't post on the Audiogon site, my questions to their "help" e-mail have gone unanswered... 8.gif
