jacksonbart
What is up for the weekend? Tonight, its rainy (which is good since we have not had any for 10+ plus days) so we are going to stay in tonight and watch a movie, perhaps National Treasure or Monster. I have Team America, but dont think the wife will like it. Was crying laughing when I saw it in the theaters. My wife and I have a neighborhood progressive cocktail/appetizer party this Saturday night. It was actually really fun last year. There are 4 stages and you may host one of them and groups of couples have assigned houses to meet at for allotted times. Obviously the schedule switches up so its not the same couples at each stage. Afterwards we all meet at a common house. This year there are 20+ couples in. Sunday its yard work and hopefully if I can get the usual neighborhood crew together a poker game. You? nicholtl
Just returned home to LA from a week-long trip to Hawaii to watch my brother officially receive his M.D. diploma. Gonna take it easy for now, until tomorrow, which is my friend's birthday, and we're gonna get traaaaaaaaaaashed.
IAmtnbikr
Hmm....B-day today... so it was margaritas and steak with shrimp for dinner with the wife and our youngest one, who soon turns 6. Loafing on here tonight, watching the qualifying at the NHRA event in Ohio online too. Got three auto transmissions for drag cars to do this weekend....two TH-400's and one Powerglide. Plus one TH-350 for the neighbor's son who lives in OK. Gonna be busy. Oh....need to mow the hayfield too after all the rain we have had.....before we can't see the kid playing in the grass since it is so tall. Maybe a trip to BB to grab a new concert DVD (unsure of which one yet....) to blow the walls out with too.
Woodog
Good weekend so far. Today I got together with some friends and jammed up God's country (Woodbury, KY) to prep for the memorial day weekend big do where we'll be playing. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather here after some serious rain last night. Then to accompany a WONDERFUL lyric soprano at faculty/staff dinner (Schubert's Gretchen am Spinnrade). Got home from that and prepped my bike for a ride in Mammoth Cave National Park tomorrow. Some really nice territory up there. My kid's riding with riding with me tomorrow. He was upstairs listening to 'Simple Plan' on the khorns at high SPL while I oiled, tightened, trued and otherwise paid attention to our machines. I find real pleasure in getting a bicycle just right before a ride. I'm hoping the kid will be up for the 17 mile singletrack trail. Really looking forward to this. Right now, of course, typing here and listening to Putomayo Blues Cafe.... 'John Henry'. Windows open, cool night breeze ... the cat's languid pose on the bed is kinda how I feel. lucky (but tired!) life is good. Woo
