BEC
I have found that there are more than one crossover design labeled K-500-5000. I am asking for help from those who have lots of Klipsch technical data to come up with the schematic for the "later" model K-500-5000 networks. I will post what I know about these in the next posts. BEC
This is a schematic of the K-500-5000 from 1955. Bob
BEC
This is a K-500-5000 crossover that I have which is like the schematic without the change in red on the schematic. Bob
BEC
This is a picture of a K-500-5000 crossover in a 1963 Khorn. Notice this one has an autotransformer. Does anyone have a schematic of this "later" model K-500-5000? Bob Crites
Daddy Dee
Bob, VERY COOL. Thanks for posting.
WMcD
BEC I just posted The Trouble with Attenuators. What it shows might be a later 500-5000. Gil
Deang
I wish I would have remembered the pics in this thread before I built. I sure hope they slide in there.

kiaforte
If these are 16 ohms and the capacitors are 2 and 4 uf then this mite be ok. I need the schematic please. I have to reduce image size to post pics. will do tomorrow.
Tom Mobley
here's mine, I believe these were manufactured in late 1959 or early 1960. Is that an autoformer? I remember thinking it was an inductor. Too many wires on it?
BEC
I will post a couple of K-500-5000 schematics that I hand drew while rebuilding the old crossovers. I have never seen an official Klipsh drawing of either one of these. Perhaps someone else has. The one I called K500/5000 V1
BEC
I called this one K500/5000 V2. By the way both of these use an autotransformer, but it is not a T2A. I labeled the drawings with the attenuation values. Bob Crites
Tom Mobley
Wonder why some of these have 3 inductors and others have only two? The factory one that Dean posted with 3 inductors doesn't have much in the way of caps either.
Deang
In that other thread, the poster says there is a 2uF and 4uF cap. I guess that means there are three versions of these things.
WMcD
Anyone investigating might want to consider what was going on in the late '50s as described here. Note the changes in drivers, and nomenclature http://www.klipschcorner.com/heritage/KlipschornTimeline I had mentioned the Trouble with Attenuators which gives some values and schematics. Note the date of 1958. http://community.klipsch.com/forums/p/59538/582694.aspx#582694 All for what it is worth. WMcD
WMcD
I should have added that Crites knows everything . . . yes . . . everything. So go with what he says. WMcD
