formica
Anyone have additional pictures of this enclosure variation? I'm just trying to get some more ideas on possible aesthetic tricks I could use on an eventual khorn renovation... I had never heard of this model till I stumbled across this image in Klipsch's "discontinued" models section here. I would have considered building a topless (yeah, kinky, I know...) K-horn / Jubilee look alike but the K400 horn was designed to be used with a baffle to lower it's FR according to one of the Dope From Hope papers and I'm not contemplating a new mid horn lens at this time... Anyone have more info on this model?RobPS: Even though this is the correct section for this.... I wasn't sure if I should have posted this in 2 channel, just because there are more viewers... formica
I believe it's the 60th year. ... I guess that would explain why it was offered in 1995... [] Have you ever heard of it yourself? It's news to me... http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=104&s=specs
Deang
I misunderstood. This year is the 60th year, and I thought you were talking about this years Klipschorn which I believe looks a bit different than usual. Sorry.
Guest BobG
Klipsch built a very limited run of 50th Anniversary Khorns. Same design but three different veneers. Lacewood, Sapele and one other I cannot recall at the moment. Each was numbered and less than 150 pair total produced. Most went to Europe and Asia. They were sonically identical to the standard Khorn.

Same design but three different veneers. ...They were sonically identical to the standard Khorn. I was wondering on how the top section is built aesthetically... ie: is there a full top panel? How far back does the grill go around the sides? I'm considering building two tops anyways... probably one "B" type and a custom rotatable open type. I was kinda disappointed the MF horn requires a baffle to maintain it's FR... as a "jubilee" exposed horn would have looked nifty. PS: Even though this is the correct section for this.... Marvel
formica, This link was posted by a forum member (I forgot who already and it's only been ten minutes. pretty sad huh?) Look down the left side of this first page of pics. It's a pretty clean pic. Kinda art nouveau to me. colterphoto1
They had one in the Museum. I have photos, give a couple of days to get it all edited an on line. Also shots of Heresy with 8, 10, and 12" early on. Shorthorns, Rebels, you can't believe what all we saw!!!! Michael
formica
Thanks Marvel... Talk about great timing those are in the first batches of pics from the Hope tour, huh? That picture is much clearer than the one in the "discontinued product" pages... and the khorn is much more intricate than I imagined. Art Nouveau or even Art Deco ... but definitely neat. I think Klipsch should update their own pic of the 50th anv. Michael, feel free to post more.... Did anyone notice what those black mouldings are made of? Look kinda like plastic/pvc ... but could be anything. Thanks again... Rob

Marvel
More Deco than Nouveau I guess. A lot of the guys didn't like it, but I thought it was kinda cool. Wouldn't fit in a lot of places. I think Seti took these and posted them. I wanted to give credit where due. Bruce
D-MAN
Don't forget this TRUER "art deco" version from Vitavox (executed rather fearlessly), which is far "better" than the anniversary version, which is just plain poor design IMO. I think that the anniversary version looks like a cheap asian liquor cabinet. I mean, if you're gonna do "art deco" then really DO "art deco", not some cheasy faux rendition of it! formica
Thanks for those great pics... Interesting how the horizontal pieces look like they are 1/2" thick rather than the typical 3/4"... Not sure what they were trying to accomplish, but i prefer the thicker stock. colterphoto1
Trey commented that folks did not care for that. The trim pieces around the edges looked like wood that was lacquer sprayed, but probably was plastic due to the shapes involved. I didn't touch it (it was a museum after all), but the flared 'skirt' shape was very distinctive as was the grille material. Hope the photo captured the detail for you.
