Hey Fini,

I was able to find this website and FAQ: http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/cs/support/faq_67.html

but it doesn't address how to actually find the tool in PowerDVD for digital out.

I'm posting this on the forum to see if someone can help fini find the setting in PowerDVD software that allows the DVD to play digital out (he's using multimedia speakers with a hardware digital decoder). I think we have the soundcard and Windows settings ok, it's the DVD software audio settings we couldn't find.

Is anyone familiar with this?

I'll keep looking! [:)]

Fini, you running this on Windows, or your Imac?

Aftermarket sound card, or we talking about on-board sound (i.e. off the MB).

If aftermarket audio card, does your DVD software support your card? Do you have the lastest driver installed? If not, go to the manufacturers web site and down load the latest drivers.

If you've done all this already, then just give the Software support tech. a call, and have him/her walk you through the setup. Their usually friendly and knowledgable. It's just the pain the arse waiting on hold that takes forever.

Well, turns out it was something stupid! I unclicked the box (in

a menu somewhere) that had the speakers muted when headphones are

attached. An item NOT found in any troubleshooting guide I looked

at.

Thanks for the help, Amy and Gilbert! Oh, Gilbert, this is on

the PC running XP Pro. I cannot imagine this kind of run-around

with a Mac!
