Michael,

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Youre incorrigible. Isnt there a recovering Klipschaphile you can call to talk you down before you hit the bid button?

Now you need to get rid of two pair of LS to reduce your net Klipsch count.

My dealer used to get this money. Now at least I get something for it.

It's a matched set- made for me! I couldn't help myself.

I will sell two LS Industrial Bass Bins when I get these home. A six foot stack for the garage is sufficient, I don't need an 8 foot triple stack (or DO I?).

I'll try to quit now. I did turn down a pair of Forte II's that BIll pointed out near us that DrWho could have picked up and delivered this weekend. I'm trying to be good but it's hard for me. Ask Indy.....

Heard from dtel that the LSI splits are safely at his home and that he and Mrs dtel are enjoying them, per my directions. In fact, she has given him the okay to search for a pair of the big boys and bring them home. I think he was also considering ForteII, ChorusII as well.

Would anyone out there have any such speakers for sale between Chicago and Mississippi that I could pickup and deliver to him as favor for letting me know about these LSI's and picking them up for me?

Thanks,

Michael

You have a severe case of LaScalaitis. Don't forget to pack a canoe, fresh water, lighter fluid, matches, sardines and chips, because you'll be going through some newly formed and still un-charted hostile territory. You might want to put a sign on your vehicle that states LOOTERS BEWARE!.

This is Mrs. dtel. We didn't want to say anything until Michael told everyone. I have to say they do sound really good, although I am not the least unhappy with the Forte II's that we just purchased about 3 months ago. After previewing the Lascalas with our favorite concert dvd's there is a marked difference in sound.

Most of the damage from Katrina occured about thirty miles from our home. We are located about 45 miles north of New Orleans and about 35 miles northwest of Gulfport/Biloxi area.

There was a lot of damage in our area, but we recovered within a month.

By the way Michael hurricane season is over and we don't flood here, so your speakers are safe and sound. Feel free to take as much time as you need to pick them up. LOL

This is Mrs. dtel again:

One more thing, Michael Colter is personally responsible for our indecision regarding our recent purchase of Forte II's and our plan to have five Forte II's for our home theatre.

I did inform Mr. dtel that it would be in his best interest to not pick up any Klipchhorns for anyone, because I am sure if I heard those I would give the WAF right away.

Really Michael, thank you for allowing us the privilege of having these in our home. It is the first time we have ever listened to any Heritage speakers and there is no where in our area to listen to them.

We had planned to attend the Hope gathering but Katrina kind of spoiled those plans.

yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. These were a considerable better deal than the $1450 I paid for the other pair. It averages out to a very nice number that I'm happy with. Now I have the EXACT speaker setup that was my main PA rig when I worked for Calliope Sound (now Indy Pro Audio) back in the disco days.

They look so cool double stacked, Just like in my avatar, except the uber rock and roll looking fibreglass cabinets with the aluminum edging- and ALL PERFECT- bass bin, bass bin, mid/hi, mid/hi- exactly 6 feet in height. Like my old boss used to say- 'cuts their heads clean off!'

Now to get a stack of Crown DC300A's to run it all BWWHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Michael two pair of the La Scala stacked would sound HUGE,I have to thank you for giving me the chance to hear one pair.

If you don't mind I have a couple questions

I use a sub so I have some control with helping the bass, so I am not concerned about the low end.

When switching from your La Scalas to the Forte ll ,the La Scalas have a much larger, cleaner and overall more live sound in the mid and highs to me and everyone here. I still love the sound of the Fortes but how do the Cornwalls sound in the mid and highs compared to the LaScalas.

I am trying to build a 5.1 or 6.1 setup for movies and music mostly music and i also like to switch to just 2 ch. For the back left ,center and right they would have to get mounted up on a large beam,3 fortes or heresy would fit but La Scalas would not

And i still have not even got past the mains yet, i thought i did with the forte ll but i like mid and top end sound of the La scala better.

I started with synergy ,so i know what kind of sound i like now and don't want to waste money in the wrong direction and having someone like you and Dr Who comparing most all heritage helps.

After reading all the threads in the past from many people i want to try and and do it right this time. If 5 or 6 forte lls is the answer for me that will work just fine, but the mid and highs of your La Scalas sound darn good.

Thanks again

Why doncha copy this post and start a new thread in HT, we'll pitch in and help you with your planning.

There is a problem with A/B comparisons when the speakers have more than 2 db efficiency between them. The louder one will almost always be favored. That's why I built a cable bundle for my Niles switchbox that has volume controls. You just plug in a bunch of Klipsch speakers (it works ONLY with Klipsch speakers), adjust the volumes using a db meter then you can compare the QUALITY of the sound of the speaker properly.

The Cornwalls are a little more forward, I'd say kind of pinched a bit, where the LS are very open and airy. When you say LIVE sound, you're referring to that big horn. LS is basically a PA cabinet and sounds like one to my ears- but I find that pleasant as I did a lot of rock concerts in my youth.

Remember it's the same components except for 400 vs 600 hz horn, really not that much is affected. I'd say my preference in the upper ranges depends almost entirely on the music being played. HT, they're pretty neck and neck. IndyKlipschFan has 7 LSI's in his HT with the THX subs. I slightly prefer the Cornwalls because I do lots of 2ch music listening and don't want the sub in for that. I think LS needs a big room to breath, when I play my stacks in the garage, it sounds best about 40 feet away. But it does sound like real live music. I've had Keith Emerson playing piano in my garage more than once! LOL

Is there someone out there who's compared CW and ForteII? I've heard the CW and Chorus together and would pronounce them very similar. ForteII is basically Chorus' lil bro. The $$ are about the same, F is smaller, having not heard the ForteII, I can't say.
