edwinr
I'm the highest bidder at the moment.
fini
C'mon Edwin! You KNOW the only time it matters you're the highest bidder is AFTER the auction has ended! Snipe, baby!!
fini
Mark, are you talking "sheen?" The product I used on the Belles (Bartley gel varnish) only comes in satin. Perhaps a few more coats are needed. As an alternative product, I've been using General Finishes Arm-R-Seal a lot lately. I'm almost certain it would be compatible with the Bartley finish. It comes in satin, semi-gloss, and gloss. Mt. Storm carries it, you can probably find it up your way, too. http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10928
3dzapper
Those look like KB-WLs (laquered walnut) Mark. Rick
J M O N
Are your Belles walnut oiled? If so, you may want to try using some Watco Rejuvinating oil, which I believe is basically boiled linseed oil with possibly some other things in there. I've used some on my walnut oil khorns and it does come out quite nice, leaves a little bit of a shine to them. Of course you have to re-oil them every six months or so, but it does look quite nice. edwinr
By some very astute detective work, I've identified the seller. This was the same person that offerred Belles to me last year, about the same time I bought my Klipschorns. When I went back to him, he told me they were sold, so I discounted buying any Belles becaue they are very rare in Australia. Something funny is going on. Sherlock Holmes is on the trail... Parrot
These speakers are already at US$2686. I'm afraid that's going to be too dear for Edwin. []
edwinr
I just spoke to the guy that owns them. He wants $5500 for them! He did say they are absolutley mint though. He said he won't let them go for under $5000. He's dreaming. I'll just hold off and if he doesn't get what he wants, I'll make an offer. 3dzapper
For that kind of money you could buy a pair from the US and first class tickets on Quantas for them. Rick
