DrWho
Ray, you obviously don't know (edit) about cars. Actually Ray is serious about his Geo's... here is a pic of his ride he posted in another forum: [] The Fast and the Cantankerous . [au] There was a kid in my highschool that dropped a Chevy 305 in a metro (which involved moving the front seats and entire dashboard back). He even put the SS monte carlo trans in there (the one with a shift kit) and put on new tires...his first test drive he couldn't resist laying into the gas and he bent the frame up so bad that only 3 wheels were really touching the ground, lol. So he promptly bought another metro from the junkyard and stripped it all the way down and reinforced the frame. I never did find out how the beefed up one turned out, but I would love to have ridden in it. I do know that he had to put a lower gear on the rear-end to avoid burning out everytime time he punched it. Just imagine the performance you could get after upgrading the engine.....[H] (btw, he totally redid the suspension and added swaybars and whatnot...by the time he was finished it didn't even look like a metro....more like a go-kart on steroids). Ray Garrison
just for the sake of accuracy, Ray (who bowed out of this thread after making a complete *** out of himself) has never, and will never, own a Geo. I've had a '65 Buick Skylark convertible with the 310 "wildcat" V8, a '74 Fiat Spider convertible, a '76 Capri, a Schirocco (don't remember year), an '85 Mustang GT, an '86 Merkur XR4Ti, a Subaru Legacy Turbo wagon, a Subaru Outback, two Subaru SVX's, among other things, am driving an 88 Buick Century with paint falling off (times have been tough) and intend to have a Cayanne as soon as I'm rich and famous.
