Hey Duke, Big EV's in Texas

I would sure love to lay my hands on a pair of the older fully horn loaded EV Eliminator's that had a long rectangular cabinet. I remember hearing them a number of times in a club in Germany called the Starlight. There were being powered with a Phase Linear 400 I think, boy did they put out.

I see EV no longer makes a fully horn loaded Eliminator speaker.

I remember back in the old days, (that was when "the air was clean, and oral sex was dirty") multi stacks of Eliminators were killer!!! They had that clean EV/Klipsch horn sound with monster SPL's.

ahhha, the good old days,

Terry

The concept is fine, but that model leaves something to be desired.

Foam edge woofers, will need repair sometime soon.

$1800 plus freight? Right.

The HP640 horn in that series sounds good, the HP940(shown) is not so good.

I built something similar with dual K43s and the JBL2380A. It's OK, much better than the stock offerings from EV/JBL/Klipsch, but I would do something different now.

You can buy just the EV HP940/DH1A HF section for about $400 the pair(used).
