SCOOTERDOG
Man it takes forever to get things done. I can finaly see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have one corner bead to install and some minor sanding and I'll be ready to paint. My goal is to have it painted by Wednesday so I can get the carpet installed and then I can finish the speaker screens for the La Scala's and the center of the stage. The screens for the La Scala's have not been decided on yet. I am trying to determine what I want to do with them. I am thinking about some kind of design in the top half with acoustic fabric below to cover the area of the La Scala's, probably some Gilford of Main fabric. But anyway, I said I would take a few pics Sunday for those of you interested so here they are. The area is under construction so its a bit of a mess. Don't ask me if I left the speakers in place why I was working because I would get offended by that kind of Q [], you know I didn't. I wanted to kick back for a couple of hours tonight since I have not really sat down all weekend. I moved everything back into place and projected the image on the drywall, not the best but tonight I'm not picky.

Scp53
Looks nice. Coming along great! I just have to ask, with such nice speakers and other gear, why "just" a ksw12? Im not knocking on it at all, I would just think you'd want something a little more potent or with more depth. Or do you have a different sub that Im not aware of... just wondering... scp53
SCOOTERDOG
lol... Yeah I know, the ksw12 has to go soon but it has served me well. You have to remember I had a choice here. I could have sprung for some new equipment for the amount I have spent on this project. and I could have bought a new sub, dvd player etc. but since this was my pet project and I will only do this once the funds went to this room. Next year I plan on adding the thx ultra II sub system for the HT, or what ever is out then. I would also like to add a HD DVD/Blueray player to the mix. It will happen especailly since I have my dedicated HT and music room now. Half the time my wife has no clue when I add new equipment. Heck, she can barely turn it on. as long as I stash away a little here and a little there she will have no idea. Now that the center and sub are covered she won't even know when i add it.[6] scooter
formica
It's looking great the stage will give it that "dedicated" HT look. [] I just can't believe you left the speakers in there while you did the work [][:#] Actually, it must be quite a bit of extra work to get all the stuff in and out all the time.... I thought you had another system up and running in the house? How are you doing with dust? ROb
SCOOTERDOG
Thanks guys! Rob, Dust is always a problem. I wrap my projector in a plastic bag and put sheets all over the furniture. I then put up a 10x20 3 mil drop cloth across the work area, floor to ceiling. I then run the hose from my shop vac into the work area and turn it on. It is amazing how fast it sucks the dust out of the air. It actually pulls in the barrier as it creates a vacumn inside the work area. But no matter what you do some escapes. It will be a day of washing walls etc when I'm done. scooter

dbflash
Scooter, You should be proud of yourself. Is this the first time you have ever done a project like this? I know there are some people who check out the work you and others here have done and wonder if they could do it. Again Great Job. It's all finally coming together. SCOOTERDOG
Man you know what I hate. I just wrote this be response and when I hit post it just freakin lost it. So now here I am thinking, oh crap do I try and remember everything I said and retype it or do I just say... db, Yes & No. This is my 1st real HT I have built that envolved walls, stage, columns etc. But I do have the tools and decent knowledge of what and how to do these things. Plus I did a lot of looking read lots of post both here and over at the avs forum. I figure you can do anything if you take your time to learn and trust yourself.
