jacksonbart
I have not seen it yet but Ebert liked it. A very different business idea. http://www.audioholics.com/news/editorials/bubblemoviereleased.php

Speedball
It's about time...... Movie theatres have been struggling for years, the only advantage I see to a theatre is the huge screen size.

I'll take my home theater over any movie theater, ...hands down. ps- saw the BUBBLE. It was interesting...and didn't cost me a penny.... ...since I saw it in my home theater in Hi-Def ! Anyone else see it ?
nuclearay
I saw this advertised on one of my HD channels... not sure which one. I set my DVR to record it (I think it did so last night) but I guess it wasn't the actual movie, but rather one of those 'sneak peaks' that movie channels like to do. I like the way Soderbergh does suspense -- I look forward to this one.
RickB
I watched it on the HDNet Movie channel. I'm glad I got to see it for free. I still don't think I got my money's worth.
nuclearay
As it turns out, I did record the movie. I watched it last night. Blah. Some of the dialogue was painful. 50% of it could have been left out and it would have only made the movie better. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. ygmn
If this movie SUCKS...then this will have no effect on the industry... I bet you can see more sucky movies doing this...to fool peeps into buying the DVD or rental or whatever before reviews come out... think Son of Mask 2!!!! Summer blockbusters will not do this.... they make $$ in summer on theater release then fall rentals.. then Xmas presents...

As well as "American Pie goes to BandKamp" or whatever the hell that was. I will give some props to Bubble, though, as it was completely original. If I had to, I would rather watch it than most of the dreck being pumped out of Hollywood now. The movie was shot on a shoestring buget, and used 'real' people as opposed to actors -- I'm just not so sure those are good qualities. synthfreek
If I'm not mistaken that has occured before by none other than Mr. Sam Raimi. I think it was Evil Dead II that was released at the theater and on video at the same time.
