sputnik
I was in the Guizhou Province last year where a Japanese firm had just built a huge, high-tech dog meat processing and packing plant and a new highway system to serve it. Most of the people that I worked with there considered dog meat to be something special the way we consider tenderloin or lobster as a special treat. While working in China, I've eaten horse meat, some kind of fried bug, and sucked marrow juice out of bones with a straw. I also ate a lot of things that were completely unknown to me. I never saw the dog packing plant but I'm told it was quite large even by Chinese standards. Ironically in Beijing, it has beome very stylish to own and pamper pet dogs. People will spend a great deal of money, even by our consumptive standards, on dog grooming and accessories.
jheis
As the old saying goes, the Chinese will eat anything with four legs - other than a table - and anything with wings - other than an airplane.
djk
Whoever wrote that garbage article and mentioned Roe vs Wade has an agenda. Fetal research began in the 30s. The polio vaccine was developed using fetal cells, the 1954 Nobel Prize was awarded for same. My older cousins got polio. I got the vaccine, didn't get polio. How about you? sputnik
I removed the link. The Chinese practice it described was pretty accurately related according to what I was told in China and it goes way back - long before Chinese population control policies and abortion clinics. The writer of the article clearly used it opportunistically to try to support thier agenda. I initially skimmed over the propaganda in the middle, which I also disagree with by the way. It was just too political so I removed it.
