Speedball
....why would you be required to do modifications on so many 7's if people were satisfied with the product initially??.....if I may chime in here. You are never required to do it. Maybe you would just like to hear a difference like me.
Wrench722
Can you give me the part number for the Solen cap for your RF-7 upgrade? You also say you change a inductor as well? If so witch one and what is the part number? Any more info on this would be a big help. Thanks WRENCH722

Fish
I just wanted to throw this in,I've had many units hooked to my 7's.I've heard em' sound from really bad to great. All electronics are not created equal, even the same units can have different sound(maybe different parts supplier, idunno).I've had a 3k pre/pro that sounded really bad on 7's,I've had a $500 HK sound pretty nice.I've owned several Denons,3802/03/05(running through various amps) they were ok but not too musical.I can tell you the 7's have great potential,I've put many more expensive speaks right beside em' only to keep the 7's.The 7's are totally dependant on source, pre, amplification, any decent cables will produce great results. They will hide/cover no flaws,if its good they're great,if its poor they'll suck. That said the 7's are not for everyone, only those that can audition lotsa units and find the right combo for them will be truly satisfied. Its all in the room, source and prepro. All imo. TheSevens
I just bought a pair of rf-7's open box. These are an upgrade from my last pair of the sf-3's. On rock albums they are very bright and yeah sometimes give me a headache.... for jazz and more acoustic they sound great except for the sax which is also a little annoying with treble. My current gear: Playing cd's thru the playstation 2. Nad 304 Stereo int amp. I have gear arriving in the mail on wed which will replace my current gear: Music Hall Mambo Class A int Amp Cambridge Audio DVD-79 and soon to come Cambridge Audio Azure CD player. I think my treble issue will be solved on wed. The Music Hall should even things out.
Argus-7
I have 5 rf-7's in my theater room using a Fosgate pre-amp & amp this set-up is great for dvd movies and music. For tv I usually turn the system off and just use the tv speakers except for some hd broadcasts. I find the audio quality on most tv broadcast not very good. Thanks WRENCH722 Really I know nothing about the parts.....there is a fellow, DeanG, here at the forum who upgrades the parts for a fee and it changes the sound. leok
TheSevens, The Music Hall Mambo looks interesting. Let us know how it sounds. Also, if you don't have a power line filter I suggest you get one. The Belkin F5C980-TEL (may still available at taples) is inexpensive and effective. Leo
