Mike Lindsey
Well... I don't know what to say, really. Everything is relative, and it's quite evident these people who are bidding have a lot more expendible income than I... Mike
Parrot
Great! Now everyone is going to bid on this and drive the price higher!
LarryC
Barely on-topic: I'm very impressed with the Geza Anda/Camerata Academica recordings of all the Mozart Piano Concertos on the DG 8-CD album 469-510-2, $64 on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=br_ss_hs/102-9114525-9903366?platform=gurupa&url=index%3Dblended&keywords=Geza+Anda&Go.x=13&Go.y=10). Recorded between 1961 and 1968, the performances are GREAT IMHO, and the recordings are very clear and detailed, up close rather than distant. So good, they make almost all the concertos interesting, not just the great ones. Anda's recording of the No. 21 slow movement was the widely-noted background music in the once-famous 1967 movie Elvira Madigan.

colterphoto1
Why so much $$, are they SIGNED by Mozart or something?
Parrot
A Mozart autograph sells for about ten times as much: http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:U3Kf1G-ZY1IJ:www.shareholder.com/bid/downloads/news/20051201-180960.pdf+mozart+autograph+value&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=
rplace
Great! Now everyone is going to bid on this and drive the price higher! Paul, why did I hear meagain's voce in my head when I read that? You forgot the "Why would anyone bid early" part.
