Vandy Two with hiked skirt

Recommended Posts

Hike up yer skirt a little more.....and show yer world to me.

I like the way the line runs up the back of the stocking....

Speaker porn leaves nothing to the imagination, but if I had to choose, it would be the one laying down and shoved into that middle hole.

I see a trapezoidal bass bin to lessen resonances, looks like a PR out back? but don't understand the superstructure with the two frontal posts, nor what the extra height is all about. Is there more unseen? Why the two 'legs', other than to give a unified exterior appearance?

Michael,

I own a pair of these (model 2C). I thank Johnny for lifting the skirt - I was too timid. It is a type of passive radiator that functions to make the "cabinet seem larger" for the woofer. Part of the appearance is stylistic and it is also aimed at eliminating diffraction. The height is by design also, since the dispersion of the tweeter is idiosyncratic in the vertical dimension.

The sound is very "mellow". They are quite bass shy. The imaging can be good but they are quite sensitive to room placement and toe-in. They are not very efficient (we Klipsch owners do get spoiled ..... ) so they do not have a dynamic sound.

These were my first pair of good speakers (when I started making some money). I have hung on to them for a number of years, but I should get rid of them. I am probably preaching to the choir, but it really is tough letting old speakers leave the house.

Good Luck,

Tom
