ssh
Congratulations, Who. That's a very nice unit, as you've found out. The last photo looks like you're doing a Prell commercial in a box. SSH
DrWho
Geez Doc, what the Hell have you done to my packing job? [] Just a little "road testing"...4 years ago I think I could have tucked all the way into the box and then we could have performed stair testing []

DrWho
My only "complaint" is that she runs hotter than the thighs of a fat chick running after the ice-cream truck. [] I don't think it's a big issue and the manual mentions that it has a fan. I'm yet to detect it turning on. The amp gets hot when idling (turned on, but the volume turned off), which tells me that she's probably a class AB amp, which also explain the clean sound at lower levels. I opened the volume up a bit this afternoon and you could notice the amp starting to get a littly gritty, but that's just me being picky and having been spoiled with the chance to hear really good amplification elsewhere. What is that, 2 days straight of music before getting distracted by the equipment? That is definetly a first so I'm very pleased. I tried bypassing the 8 channel mixer I've been using to boost the subwoofer output to drive the Crown amp and I had to drop the mains to -12 and crank the sub to +12 for things to balance out. Those bloody Chorus II's and there 101dB sensitivity can be so annoying sometimes! [] So needless to say I put the mixer back in line with the signal. I still haven't finished hooking her all up as I've been too distracted with 2-channel music. One of these days I'll plop in a movie and see how things sound. colterphoto1
These HT receivers do run hot. Make sure to have plenty of ventilation, don't stack other components, and a little boxer fan on top couldn't hurt either. mmmm fat chicks mmmm ice cream mmmmmm M
Moderators dtel Posted July 28, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2006 I'm jealous, very nice receiver Drwho. Try not to over analyze it to much, enjoy the music. I read the specs, over 100 watts, and the sensitivity of your speakers, you could do some damage.[] Save those ears in your line of work you will need them.[]
