What Version Heresy's?

I recently purchased what I think are rather rare Heresy's and I would like to get a little further information about them.

They are labelled MBK and the serial numbers are 115W956/957. They have 5 way binding posts in a cup on the bottom part of the back and have what I call a "Pro" finish.

Any answers would be helpful. Thanks

I am confused by the label: MBK

Sometimes things are faded and difficult to read.

Is it possible the first letter is an "H"

and the last letter is an "R"

IOW "HBR"?

A couple of questions 1) what are the dimensions and 2) does the back panel have screws or is it fixed

The W in the SN means 1981, one of the best sounding years.

The cup and 5-way binding posts are not factory for 1981 models; they were added. I've done the same to mine.

The MBK is a puzzlement. It is not a normal klipsch designation.

What finish does it have?

The cup with the dual bananas is the giveaway. That's an Industrial Heresy. They also sported bizarre serial numbers and there is no record of the years for them, the standard chart does not work.

My guess is that there might be a handle on top, a slot port at the bottom, a K24 heavy duty woofer, a different xover, possibly metal corner trim on these speakers.

To answer a few of the responses I received - It really does have MBK embossed on the backs of each and one of them has USA embossed on the back in two different places.

The finish is a pebbly black and the backs are held on by 8 screws.

And when I get my digital camera working again, I will show photos.

Thanks to all who have helped me so far.

MBK stamped embossing are the initials of the final assembler. Is there a serial number embossed along the top edge?

Is the jack cup kind of a five sided affair with dual 5-way jacks and possibly a fuse holder? IT may be made of cast metal or plastic, but is shaped kind of like a rounded off house shape. That is the jack plate for industrial. It might state HI or HIP on that plate. That would be for Heresy Industrial or Heresy Industrial Ported.

Is there any port along the front edge? Any expanded metal grille behind the motor board protecting the woofer?

As I mentioned originally, the serial numbers are 115W956/957. The cups for the connectors are not pentagonal and there is no additional port on the front, metal reinforcement, handles on the top, or additional metal screen over the woofer.

Hopefully, digital camera will be up and running tomorrow and I'll include some photos.

While I was successful in posting a photo of the from of the speaker, I am having difficulty in posting a photo of the back...I click on options, go to the browse section, insert the appropriate photo and then the question is what to do next? Hitting save does nothing - the directions for making attachments really need help, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

Make a new REPLY, add whatever text you want to say, then go up to the OPTIONS tab, ADD/UPLOAD file, BROWSE your computer and OPEN the file you want, then SAVE that (it'll take a second for you pix to upload), then POST your file.

Each word above is a box to click along the way.

If you go back and EDIT that post, your link to the photo is lost, so you must go through it again. So just add new REPLY if you need to describe it more.
