Receiver vs. Amp vs. Option2 for RF/RC-7

Just wanted to update everyone that helped me with the issue of RF-7 sounding a bit "dull".

Maybe this is a placebo affect, but I just purchased an Outlaw 7500 amp and it has helped the sound a bit. The (RC-7) center channel now sounds clearer for home theater. (better mids) But the rest (RF-7's) hasn't dramatically improved.

I guess I just threw money out the window, but I feel better knowing that I've got lots of wattage. :-)

I'm sorry but I don't understand what a Fathom subwoofer has to do with getting best sound from RF-7's.

Bass has never been an issue for the system (I have Velodyne+RSW15), but without the subs, I've found the RF-7's to be a bit lifeless and having a bit of a gap in the midrange.

I've blamed amplifier and room/accoustics already, so my next step might be to give DeanG x-over network a shot.

Other suggestions welcomed.
