Jay Registrar
Greg R. sent me this URL showing what must be a record price for Herseys!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230155546695&rd=

colterphoto1
1- NOT H-700, they are HWO, H-700 says H700 on the label, I know I have some 2- butcher job will all the holes in the back for fuses, bet it whistles. 3-they will be back up, buyer will realize that he could have had NEW HIII's that will blow their doors off EDIT 4-maybe he's serious, buyer has copped Pioneer SX1250 and Bose 901's recently. Looks like a history buff.
Daddy Dee
I would have lost money betting on that one.
Kudret
Here are my 1972 Heresys which look better than those. I almost sold mine, but I am glad I didn't. Mine don't say Model H700 though! What's the difference (other than the label)? Kudret
Daddy Dee
Kudret, The H700's have a slightly smaller internal volume. The height and width are about the same, but the cab is not quite as deep. About 2" in. less.
oldbuckster
Stupid prices.................those aren't that nice..........What's going on here, it's getting like a Barret-Jackson car auction where Rich Guys act like Fools and raise the prices up to unbelievable levels..........I guess if people pay the prices, I'm the fool for saying anything !!!!!!!!!!! Stupid Prices !!!!!!!
arfandbark
Why are we upset that Heresy speakers are commanding such a high price? I like thinking my OO Cane Front Heresy IIs are worth more than what HarryO sold them to me for (snicker snicker)... If you don't want to pay that much, don't buy them. Be happy you didn't pay that much. The Heresy speaker has a following. Lot'sa yuppies are buying "that good speaker" they heard in thier youth. Look at prices for big receivers. It makes sense to me. Thank goodness most yuppies never heard Cornwalls.
oldbuckster
Two points...........If your going to spend $1,500. why wouldn't you buy New ? Buy New from Klipsch so they'll keep producing in the future...and, if these prices continue ,the price of the rest of the Heritage Series will move up.........Good for the Seller, Bad for the Buyer........If Heresy's are worth $1,500. for 30+ year old speaker, what would a Cornwall set be $2000., $2,500., or maybe even $3,000.......Seller smiling, Buyer can't afford...Just another point of view................No matter what you think, it's hard to justify $1,500. for those Heresy's ................ arfandbark
I'd like to sell a bridge to the person that bought those Heresy's.
greg928gts
I have a pair of empty H700 cabinets and they are made with 1/2" plywood, not 3/4". The $1500 Heresy's are an ebay anomaly. Greg Edit: Anyone want to buy those empty H700's, I'm thinking I can get $750 for them.
oldbuckster
$750....EACH ? .................... []
wuzzzer
Two points...........If your going to spend $1,500. why wouldn't you buy New ? Oldbuckster, I wouldn't ever spend $1500 on a vintage pair of Heresys, but would you rather spend $50k on a new Corvette or $50k on a Vette from the 60s? A New Corvette...............without a doubt !!!!! No Contest, well maybe if I wanted to tell stories I would take an Old One, but if I want to drive a real sportscar the C-5's and C-6's are Kings........
