PrestonTom
When you go from $300 to $450, things start to change. At $450 you are now within the range of Cornwalls (especially if the finish and cosmetics are less than perfect). I like Heresies (I own some), they do some things very well, but they lack in bass. Cornwalls (which I also own) are definitely a big step up. If you have the space, definitely think about holding out for Cornwalls (they are about 3x larger). They are not a strain on an amp (they are efficient and do not present a low impedance to the amp) and the bass is significantly better. Many were sold and they come up for sale all the time. Good Luck, -Tom

pmsummer
I know of a pair of Cornwalls in the Boston area that are for sale for $700. They've had the XOs refreshed, and the mid-horn wrapped. Auditioning is DEFINITELY encouraged by the seller (who is a "hardy" but rare poster on the Klipsch Forum, more often found making his "mark" on the Vintage Asylum and Audio Karma boards). jacksonbart
The guy decided to suddenly up the price by $150 and also drop their age by 12 years. [*-)] At least you have the Sox.
arfandbark
Do you know what town the Cornwalls can be previewed in? I have both Heresy IIs and Cornwall 1s. Both are very, very good speakers. If you have room for the Cornwalls, I'd pick them over the HIIs, owning both. Heresy prices are almost Cornwall prices nowadays. Some like the Cornwall more than the Klipschorn. I would jump on them if you can spring for the cash. Looks like the Acton/Harvard/Chelmsford area. Good luck! Chris
