STL
So did you replace the diaphragms in the mids too? I wouldn't think a titanium diaphragm in the tweeter would match well with phenolic ones in the mids.
cjgeraci
Congrats on the titanium replacement dias. STL's concern about matching is what led me to replace my side Forte tweeters with Eminence supertweeters (phenolic), the same drivers that Bob Crites uses for his K77 replacement (CT 125). The Eminence tweeter drivers are incredible-sounding, no matter the price. Hmmm......let's see, now I have all Eminence tweeters in the rear and sides......but the fronts, they no longer need any stinkin' tweeters!!! Meanwhile, the Beymas are being used as stands for the new Altec drivers. Anyone want to buy a pair of CP25s? Carl.
colterphoto1
Great instruction set there Bob. We should do more things like this in Tech Support to share with our customers. Can I share this with the gang? Michael

I wouldn't think a titanium diaphragm in the tweeter would match well with phenolic ones in the mids. I didn't replace the mid diaphragms. The improved tweeters and original midranges still match well. The overall improvement is in detail, not a change in the level of tweeter output nor the balance between the midrange and treble.
