Is that the speaker with the big black thingy on top that looks like a funnel? I don't work with anything larger than a quarter now. You think my wife would like the look of Jubes better? Professor Thump
Now I have received the center channel IW speaker for installation...
Professor Thump
Opps... You did it again Professor! See the little crack? I guess I was in a rush. In my defense the wall is Swiss Cheese in this area. I should go back and rebrace the wall in that area. At least the TV stayed on the wall. Professor Thump
Here is what the center channel looks like on the wall.
Professor Thump
Here is a view of the completed installation sans woofer grill. I still need to paint the patch. Wow the imaging is much better since I can increase the angle of placement. It sounds better than I thought it was going to and my wife is happy. Professor Thump
RC-64's Win! I guess I surpassed the load rating for the particle board. Thank goodness for the VHS tapes. They are holding up the shelf. I knew I could find a good way to use those tapes. Time to build a good cabinet...

Professor Thump
I am watching the Titans vs Chargers. I can't believe Manning pulled that game out of his hat against the bucks. I did this work yesterday.

Moderators dtel Posted January 7, 2008 Moderators Share Posted January 7, 2008 The shape of that room makes it hard, I would bet a sub would like that wall where the tv is, shaped like a big horn.
Professor Thump
Well I finally got a table saw this summer. I have been needing this for some time now. My dad was nice enough to give me some Walnut lumber that he wasn't using in his woodshop. So I decided it was time to replace the cabinet under our flat panel TV with a new custom bult Professor T series monster box.
Professor Thump
I love a good flame in hardwood! Here is a picture of the difference between a sanded and sealed door panel. I decided to do a shaker style cabinet. The lines are clean and simple.
Professor Thump
I hand picked some of the best flame for the doors of the cabinet.
Professor Thump
Here is what the cabinet looks like installed in the family room. The 5800's are loaded into the wall behind it with enough space between them to let the sound come out. The cabinet will work nicely as a band pass design for the sub. The sides still need to be lined up and screwed together. Eventually there will be slate on the counter and flow when I have more time to install. Professor Thump
Full view of the system with the IW grills painted to match the pretty junk at the top my wife picked out. Does it look any better? I don't know. I am a MAN! []
