2200uf with a voltage rating of 35v's is a long way off from 6800uf at 50v.

The price difference of using the right cap would problally have been less than that invention.

That picture reminded me of a battery comparison test in Consumer Reports some years ago. Compared with the other brands' D cells, the Radio Shack D cell seemed to have low output, so the techs opened it up, only to find a C cell in a D-sized housing...

Something seems fishy to me. I wonder if this is a false flag operation? The delta in manufacturring cost between those caps is trivial. Maybe as low as a penny or two or three. Where's the leverage?

Funny though. And, makes a great picture. But true?

Yeh, I was thinking it was probably apocryphal, too. One of those things, if it didn't happen like that, it should have.
