tigerwoodKhorns
My wife and I went to see James Taylor's One Man Band show a few months back and really enjoyed it. Highly recommended show. I was at Starbucks yesterday and picked up the CD and could not wait to hear it. His voice and the instruments are all first rate, but the mastering is just terrible. All of the instruments and his voice are "stacked" in the middle of the soundstage. I'd swear this is in mono. No separation at all and really tough to listen to when you are used to a great soundstage. The package came with a DVD but I do not have any high hopes for it. PhilMays
I saw his show in Richomnd and to be quite honest, I liked his show with full band better. I bought my wife the CD as well and she loves it. Of course this coming from a woman that does not appreciate audio
Islander
The package came with a DVD but I do not have any high hopes for it. Don't wait any longer to check out the DVD. The Neil Young LIve at Massey Hall 1971 CD sounds pretty good, but the DVD that came with it is stunningly good! If all the bandwidth isn't wasted on large amounts of video content, there's room for really excellent sound. Maybe JT's DVD is one of those cases. jacksonbart
There is nothing worse than good music recorded poorly.

The recording of the actual instruments sounds good, its just that the mastering is terrible. A big smear of everything between the speakers. I'll check out the DVD when I get a chance.
