RamoIjjah
Hey guys, Just wondering if it's a bad idea to have 2 left and 2 right for a total of 4 front speakers..? I have RF-7's flanking RF-83's. I'm using external amps so driving the speakers isn't a problem at all. TheRF-7's just look so pretty next to the RF-83's, I'd hate to move anyof them to the surrounds. Plus it sounds pretty good at first look, but I haven't had a chance to really run them hard through my favoritemovies and music. Should I bite the bullet and move a pair of these fronts!? Thanks! Daddy Dee
Bottom line, IMO, if you like it, leave them alone. I bet they do look nice together. It is also pretty handy to listen to each set one pair at a time. That way you can appreciate the signature sound of each. If you decide to move a pair, they would make some awesome L and R surrounds.

Bill H.
My question is ..............are the 83's Easier to run than the 7's? Do you find you need more power to achieve the same sound from the 7's as you do with the 83's? Thanks Bill H.
Groomlakearea51
, I've done it (and still do) all the time. Since you have separate amps to drive them, you can "match" the gain and set the sound stage effect fairly easily. "Wall of Voodoo" effect. Works well. Several forum members have been to my home and have heard the system and agree that with separate amps the system works very well.
SWL
I've thought about doing the same thing as I have four RF-7's. I never did try it but what I did do, is simply awesome. The front RF-7's are on the floor toed-in slightly and image very well. The rear RF-7's are elevated at the back of the room so that they are also toed-in and the tweeter is about seven feet high. Listening to the front speakers by themselves is great but when I turn on the rears, that's when the magic happens. Because the rears are approx four feet above my head at any of the listening positions, they're not as "noticeable" as the fronts. So when the rears are turned on in makes the fronts sound wider, more dynamic and much much louder without having the rears blasting right into your head. Works great for music and for rear surrounds. Good luck.[]
