nezff
Whats the difference? I have a gentleman selling some to me, he said he could give me a good deal on RF35s. Im kinda leaning towards the newer RF82s honestly. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Bill H.
There honestly isn't that much viable difference. I would go with the Newer RF82 , thus being able to get the other component's that go with that system..............JMHO
nezff
now i have to find someone to buy my 2 week old RF62s. [*-)]
iiwiiwhat
A rookie here. I also am looking at the 82's with the center. (Have to wait for the sub and surrounds.) Anyone here have any good or bad about the 82's and my debated RC-52 vs RC-62. As far as receiver, probably can only afford something like the Yamaha 661 or 663, or 861/863 at the top end. Any advice for an idiot would be welcome.
nezff
what you need is some RF62s and a RC62. lol I will sell you mine, they are brand new.
iiwiiwhat
Dude, I wish. I had to sell the wife on this. Not easy since a baby grand piano and a drum set for twin 9 year old boys just came into my future. She just fell in love with the 82's at the store (right next to the 63's, thank God). I've read alot of you and your brethren's posts and respect your input. Thanks in advance.
Bill H.
Nezff, When I wrote my eariler post I didn't realize you already had RF 62's........... that being said, I really don't think you'll achieve 200.00 more enjoyment from the 82 VS 62's. Now if you were jumping to the RF 83 I say go for it. Thus my comment below: Good Luck. I am assuming you bought from an authorized Dealer? Just take them back. Even with a restocking fee, it's better than waitng to see IF you can find a buyer...............Just an Idea.
Moderators Youthman Posted April 4, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 4, 2008 What are you looking for in a receiver? I have an HK AVR55 for sale here. I'm around the corner from you. PM me if you are interested.
jephdood
If you've got a decent sub, is there any need to upgrade to the 82's over the 62's? Do the 82's do anything better than the 62's above 80Hz?
nezff
yeah i was thinking the same thing. I was really leaning towards not getting them. I love my 62s. Honestly when I can afford it, I would love some 63s!!! thanks guys for your help.
Mr. RF62
As much as the 83's look so damn impressive, if I were to upgrade from my 62's, I'd get the 63's myself. Space savers, and wife not kill me.
iiwiiwhat
What center would you recommend with the 82's? Primary space 15x17 with open kitchen behind about the same space, Have to put the center on top of the ent. center.
nezff
I would say go with the RC62.
Moderators Youthman Posted April 6, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 6, 2008 The matching center for the RF82's is the RC-62.
iiwiiwhat
Thanks fellas. I'm actually taking the wife to hear them today and might be buying. Any tips on pricing off retail. I want the retailer to make a fair gross, but I don't want to get raped either. What do you think is fair. I have been there a couple of times and their service is good. Any help would be good. Pretty novice at HT.
nezff
I got my RC62 for $319 plus tax. The RF82s were $399 plus tax at my dealer.
Bill H.
So were you able to Sell the 62's???????????? Seems like a good Price for the 82's though, plus you went thru a Dealer ! Enjoy.
Moderators Youthman Posted April 6, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 6, 2008 Many have suggested between 15% and 25% off and occassionally up to 30%, depending on how bad they want or need to sell the items. What dealer are you looking at over near Tampa? I only found one place over there (in Lutz) I believe. I wasn't too impressed with their setup. Looked really nice, sounded ok. They had the RF82's hooked up to Sony ES products.
nezff
no i didnt sell them. That was just the price I saw at my dealer when I was in between the 62s and 82s.

They had the RF82's hooked up to Sony ES products. It's a Sound Advice near the stadium. Spent about an hour there. (We were the only ones in the whole store). Glad I brought her. She fell in love with the 63's. I am freakin' stoked.
