BEC
Here is a very interesting post on a CNC machine forum. Someone at Klipsch might want to respond. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54945 By the way, their server is flaky this morning but you can eventually get it to load. Daddy Dee
that is interesting and sort of odd. wonder what sort of intentions / plans the poster has.
dkp
I'm not sure I understand why Klipsch would be interested in this, unless the poster desires to reproduce these for sale? My thought was that he is looking to replace the plastic faceplate of his personal speakers.
Arky
But he's speculating on a limited run of 10. That was my first trip to a wood forum.[]
colterphoto1
Thanks Bob, I'll forward this on Monday. Here's some first thoughts. 1. Not a good idea- building any speaker panel of solid hardwood would be prone to splits, warps, resonances. We use MDF, plywood, and plastic fascias for very specific reasons. The horn is molded as part of that fascia panel so that's going to be pretty difficult to duplicate in solid walnut. 2. Perhaps he's just interested in some custom installation and wishes to mount these in wall cavities somehow. If that's the case I wonder what his plan for the ports is. 3. If he's really thinking of bootlegging Klipsch speakers he might wish to reconsider.
