Heresy, use the risers or go for speaker stands

Some years ago I found some wooden speaker stands that I use for my Heresy's. I think they did improve the sound particularly in the bass. Although, I have not heard them setting directly on the floor in years, so it is hard to make a comparison now. Heresy's do have optional stands. I have a pair which I have never used. I prefer the little stands that I purchased later. They put the speakers approxiamately 6" off the floor and have a slight slant similar to the Klipsch risers designed for the Heresy's.

There nothing like experimentation to find the sound you like.

- 24" (approx) wooden stands.

- Mid-range horn is level with listners ears.

- Toed into the corners.

- Positioned to directly face the sweet spot (squared up).

But like others have stated, play around with them. They're fairly light...

P.S. Why be concerned with the Heresey's bass? They didn't have any manSmile.gif Get a great SUB! You own these puppies for awesome highs and mid-range...

Happy listening

I put my babies on Lovan Ballet III speaker stands(24inches). They sound great. Less room resonance bass. Tighter more focused bass. These stands were bought from AudioAdvisor.com for a great price. Each stand has 5 steel polls that can be filled. I filled mine with lead shot. Man were they heavy. They also have a triangular base with large spikes that anchor them. And for a touch of class they have 18K gold caps on the tops of the spikes. I love em'. Also if you use speaker stands, use blu tac compound to adhere the speaker to the stand. Very sticky yet does not leave an oily residue on your finish.
