  1. Van Morrison - "Moondance" Well, it's a marvelous night for a Moondance With the stars up above in your eyes A fantabulous night to make romance 'Neath the cover of October skies And all the leaves on the trees are falling To the sound of the breezes that blow And I'm trying to please to the calling Of your heart-strings that play soft and low And all the night's magic seems to whisper and hush And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush Chorus: Can I just have one a' more Moondance with you, my love Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love Well, I wanna make love to you tonight I can't wait 'til the morning has come And I know that the time is just right And straight into my arms you will run And when you come my heart will be waiting To make sure that you're never alone There and then all my dreams will come true, dear There and then I will make you my own And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside And I know how much you want me that you can't hide Chorus Repeat 1st Verse One more Moondance with you in the moonlight On a magic night La, la, la, la in the moonlight On a magic night Can't I just have one more dance with you my love Bob Dylan - "4th Time Around" When she said, "Don't waste your words, they're just lies," I cried she was deaf. And she worked on my face until breaking my eyes, Then said, "What else you got left?" It was then that I got up to leave But she said, "Don't forget, Everybody must give something back For something they get." I stood there and hummed, I tapped on her drum and asked her how come. And she buttoned her boot, And straightened her suit, Then she said, "Don't get cute." So I forced my hands in my pockets And felt with my thumbs, And gallantly handed her My very last piece of gum. She threw me outside, I stood in the dirt where ev'ryone walked. And after finding I'd Forgotten my shirt, I went back and knocked. I waited in the hallway, she went to get it, And I tried to make sense Out of that picture of you in your wheelchair That leaned up against . . . Her Jamaican rum And when she did come, I asked her for some. She said, "No, dear." I said, "Your words aren't clear, You'd better spit out your gum." She screamed till her face got so red Then she fell on the floor, And I covered her up and then Thought I'd go look through her drawer. And, when I was through I filled up my shoe And brought it to you. And you, you took me in, You loved me then You didn't waste time. And I, I never took much, I never asked for your crutch. Now don't ask for mine.
  2. i'm considering a SACD player to add to my setup. i know i probably won't notice an amazing difference giving my equipment. but i'm planning on setting out for a Scott 299B and RF-7's so it will have better use eventually. just curious to hear what people have to say. does not have to be multi-channel. only looking for stereo quality. And yes this is primarily to listen to DSOTM. but who'll tell me not to.
  3. i have the 6 3/4" version of this speaker... the difference is the woofer size and no horn midrange, only a large tweeter about the size of that midrange. the highs are very crisp and clear... midrange lacks so i think the 6x9 version would be a lot better. midbass isnt that bad either. i wanted the 6x9 last summer when i was buying speakers for my car. but i would have had to modify the rear deck to install them. pioneer speakers are pretty good... i like infinity kappa series more.
  4. i know i dont have an expensive TV, but i notice god awful rainbow effects on mine. i adjusted the pitcure with sharpness and what not to a picture setting similar to the THX thing (which i know isn't good to calibrate) and it helped a little. maybe its because my DVD player is sitting on a carpeted floor, or maybe its becaust the tv was only $450 a year ago, but i blame it on sharp because i found a forum where sharp users complained to hell and back about it.
  5. craig, tell your daughter it doesnt matter what she drives... its what he drives. i mysel drive proud my 91' maxima. chicks dig it cause im in it. kidding.
  6. national healthcare... only thing that needs to be said about that. why we're the only industrialized country(probably the wealthiest as well) without it, i don't know. now back to cables...
  7. granted i don't have much experience in the field, but im pretty sure most people, as well as myself, will put interconnects at the end of their to-get list. i wouldn't spend more then $200 on any cable and maybe thats unreasonable to some.. but you figure that every component to your system runs from $200 up for whatever you spend on speakers, pre-amps and amps, interconnects. it seem to me its just another part of my system as anything else in it.. you can't say that all cables are the same... why do you think most people tell you to throw out the cables that come in a box with something you get from BestBuy? cause they are terrible.. so one could argue that cables are cost efficent up to $200-$300, or whatever you feel is true, before they don't seem worth it. from then on it depends on your passion for music, and how much your willing to spend to achieve an "audio nirvana"(as its been called before)... to each his own, i say. but don't tell anyone who finds it worth that hes wrong.

The "Four Door Sports Car"? At least that's how they advertised it back in the day, to the extent that they actually had a sticker in the rearmost side windows that said, in two-inch tall letters, "4DSC". I'll be the first to give you props on a Maxima of that vintage. Real fun car. It was the only reasonably-priced 4-door that would give a Taurus SHO a run for its money a dozen years ago. Of course both the Maxima and the SHO were pretty well covered by the M5, both then and now... But at the time you could've gotten a loaded Maxima SE and a Taurus SHO, and a decent vacation as well, for the price of that BMW! ---------------- i could have... but i was 7 years old. my uncle handed that car over to me 2 years ago when i had my Confirmation.. but had i been around then i would have gone for the SE
  9. no one can mess with the 91' Maxima pushing 190k with no limiter, so the fastest i've pushed her V-6 to 127mph. don't worry i was careful. She's been reffered to as the Blue Bomber(college buddies gave it that) or my personal favorite, The Hog. she handles anything you throw at her... people(my friend jumped on my hood going 20mph, moron), snowbanks, black ice, and my mom backing into me. p.s. as much as i may get yelled at for this... "Women drivers, no survivors"
  10. after going to college the underground stuff i got from my buddy is lost... he used to show me into some good stuf... i'll check out both those bands you mentioned... PM me with a list if you want.. im open to anything. and yes i did mention the really *****y ones, but they are the ones that seem to be fairly more popular so more people will know what im talkin about.
  11. most new rock is sh*t. no offense to anyone that likes it because many of my friends do. but its awful. system of a down is alright, toxicity is a great album, but "steal this album" is one of the worst i've heard. all their songs are the same structure, its boring. except for streamline which i love. slipknot over does the whole i hate the world thing. linkin park flat out blows. their lyrics seem to be written by a 13 yr old punk who didnt get hugged by his mom enough. Tool is incredible. radiohead and sigur ros are very good. everyone forgets Rage Against The Machine, great band with a great guitarist. Static-X is awful and boring to listen to as is Cold. most music is really down to hell lately. pink floyd is a classic. A Perfect Circle is pretty good. anybody like 311? then theres deftones.. great band. anyone for Glassjaw?? singer has one weird voice.. but its not something that i can play in the backround... have to focus on it. oh ya... and punk has gone to waste too. blink 182, simple plan, new found glory. punk is pop now in my book, so its all for money. who remembers millencolin, bigwig, MxPx, NoFX, pennywise, less than jake, reel big fish?? Van's Warped Tour used to be fun.
  12. garymd, i wouldn't go that far as to say i'd rather have a good stereo setup versus a season full of concerts. granted i don't have a great stereo setup.. but there are many concerts i've been to that i will say were the best times of my life and i won't forget... but i can't say the same about being in my bedroom listening to music. that type of music will last versus a concert which is an experience. i think its time for some teenage input on stereos and how guys my age look at them... drive down the road in the summer and you'll pass half a dozen kids with subs in their car going 400watts each in some little coupe. doesnt make sense but its all to impress for who has louder bass not for a musical aspect at all. even though their systems, minus the 1000 wats of eardrum shattering bass, are decent enough for an enjoyable drive with some good music going.... their arent doing it for that. i tell my friends i spent $500 last year for my SF-2's(which we know aren't the best)... they tell me how ridiculous that is. but they spend the same amount on an amp that pumps 450wattsx2 RMS into 10" subs that have the worst distortion and they brag about it. then there is the god awful music that is being produced nowadays.. its terrible. stupid pop bands with singers who can't sing for sh*t. avril lavigne im sure most of you have heard of... she did a live concert for Nickelodeon. she sounds awful. the music that is put out these days.. people forget about what real, good, talented music sounds like. if you ask an entire highschool how many kids listen to Bach or Beethoven.. you'll be lucky if you get 10 or 12 people to say yes.. i'm one of the lucky ones to know what good music is and how listening to music isnt about the bass.
  13. griffinator, i wasnt saying that everyone should go to cobaltcable.com and go nuts over their speaker cable.. im pointing out one form of testing on cables for inductance and stuff. i do recall saying it is not high-end stuff and i was pointing out the article only for the tests and monster cable results.
  14. DeanG, is this something you were asking everyone to answer about different cables? http://www.audioholics.com/techtips/audioprinciples/interconnects/SpeakerCableFaceoff.htm i never had looked at cables the way they were in this article, granted the cables there aren't high-end, but its interesting to read these tests. this is why i've looked into cables more then i did before.
