  1. You can see from my sig which receiver I ultimately endded up with. But that being said, If compairing equally priced recievers it's probalbe a toss up.
  2. It's worth it. Unless you are compairing the SF-3 Synergy to the RF-10 or 15 Reference.
  3. I say you have a very good system and don't need any upgrades. Without knowing your display I would look at adding a second sub to your system if you have the itch.
  4. There's two trains of thought. 1. If you got it flaunt it 2. You know you got it and don't flaunt it. Both are good.

    SAW

I thought the ending was quite a suprise.

The perfect actor would have been Matthew McConaughey But he would have had to give up his cameo role.
  7. Two questions: 1. What is your budget. 2. Are you set on Bookshelf speakers.

Definitly a rent. Some of the contraptions the people are put or placed in is weird.
  9. Very Good Choice on the 5790. To me all the xx90 are great receivers. J's offer is also a very good.
  10. One way I have heard is if you have a calibration disk that sends and LFE signal just play that for a few minutes. Now that i think about it you should be running that anyways to set the gain.
  11. Here it is from Sunfires owners manual on Total Harmonic Distortion " Typically less then 1/10 of the fundamental between 18 to 80 Hz." I think that explains it perfectly.
  12. That was going to be my point. The time the Sunfire was reviewed it may have been one of the best. I know when I bought mine a lot of the reviews were back in the late 90's and were for the Mark-II and the IV were out. Now I'm not a subwoofer expert and have only owned three and listen to about 6 extensively. As far as the Sunfire goes it is a very powerfull sub. Are there ones better and cheaper? more then likeley. Is there one better and cheaper and have the same footprint? probalbe not.

  14. IMO yes. While the RB-75's are very good, the RF-7 have Two-10" Drivers to the RB's One-8". The only reason I would concider the RB's over the RF's is if you are building the speakers in. The RB's are front ported while the RF's are rear ported.
  15. If memory serves me I think when I rented it I noticed the same thing. I'm also positive that my DVD player is set correctly. So it's in the formatting of the DVD.
  16. Saw the previews but forgot to watch the show. So did they bust the myth?

    Without a Paddle

Not bad, about what I was expecting. Had some funny parts, Worth a watch.
  18. You want to set the sub volume similar to the rest of your system. Get a good calibration disk that has signals for setting the sub. I have a feeling cranking the gain (volume) on the sub and receiver both will make the bass way too pronounced.

While it does have some blood and gut's it was not as much as I was expecting to see. Not that I wanted to see it anyways.

Yes, me two. I like endings like that.

    The Notebook

Very Very good movie. A little slow but for a love story type movie I was supprised I like it. I'm typically not into these but I can recommend it.

    SAW

Watched it last night. Freaky movie. Reminds me a little of Seven. My wife did not like it but then she is not into those types of movies. I thought it was very good.
  23. Ditto on buying an open box or referbished unit.
  24. There will be a very noticable difference between the Junior and the True or Sig. Not that the Junior is any slouch.
  25. Spend all you can on Speakers. You typically go through receivers every five or so years. Speakers stay with you for a very long time. RF-7,RC-7
