Constant pain, with just a sprinkling of depression:
Woodog replied to fini's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Fini my friend, I'm sorry to hear that you have this. Exercise brought me out of depression and eliminated (for now) arthritic joint pain. I also dropped major poundage in the process. What's the cause of your physical pain? -
You know, this screen shot reminds me of a pet peeve double standard. You see Jeannie wearing one of Tony's dress shirts. Cute, and a little frisky. But imagine roles reversed, with Jeannie talikng on the phone, and Tony sitting on the bar dressed only in one of Jeannie's bras. Oh, THAT would be considered "weird." Is this fair?? Oh, and bolstering my previous point about Major Nelson's serious lack of libido, can you guys believe that he's not throwing the phone out the sliding door, and making good use of that bar?? OY! LOL... different perspectives, I suppose. I saw that scene and I realized there WERE other gay people out there. Woo

<chuckle> you have no idea. I have Khorns at the house, but today it came a downpour and I went to my church where my 4 cornwalls live so I could listen to Led Zepelin's 'Rain Song' (thanks Colter). Cornwalls always make me smile. Woo

That was me with those vintage Cornwalls in Hope '05. In fact, you can still see the old crossovers undergoing Crite's sniff test in his avatar. I remembered that Dee's Heresys had an overall sound that made my vintage 1976 Cornwalls sound lifeless and dull, then Crites put in his rebuilt 'Type B' replacements. WOW!!!!! Yes, the difference was that noticable. Best upgrade $$'s spent were on crossovers. (the Crites rebuild for the Cornwalls and the ALK for the khorn). Woo

An Update from Hope...
Woodog replied to DrWho's topic in Forum Meetup Planning + Past Klipsch Pilgrimages
Hey guys! Thanks for thinking of BS and me. I do hope BS gets the 'wild hair' and drives down, but for me, I definitely can't make it. Reading Who's adventures with audio engineers and the list of gear that'll be there just makes me want to [:'(][:'(][:'(] I'll definitely be keeping up with the reports coming in. Y'all have a good'un. Woo -

Important Pilgrimage Message!

Hey All, It hurts my feelings to do this, but I'm not going to be able to be there this summer. I hate having to cancel, but the reasons are all good ones. Woo -
What piece of your system did you spend the most on?
Woodog replied to jacksonbart's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
The correct response is, "Woo who?" Heh... just caught this thread... my most expensive part of the (main) system was the 355/208 combo. After reworking it came in just over $1000. Khorns at $900 (boy did I luck out... Woo Who indeed!). CDP at $250. Of course... then there's the thread I haven't seen... Q. how much have you lost on a STUPID purchase? A. A bunch. Woo -
Oh no. I'm in trouble. Woo

Dean G, ALK's in the La Scala's via Woodog
Woodog replied to BS Button's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I think you have to remember that the entire network is a significant improvement over the AL-3. It's not just a matter of being able to control the squawker volume, even though that is part of it. I'm not really able to do techno-speak (as you well know!) but with the ALK network I noticed a much cleaner, well defined sound. When I got home last night and put the AA's back into the khorns, they still sounded good, but it was sort of like looking at a scene through cellophane vs. clean glass. With the ALK's, instruments have more 'air' around them. The music becomes the focal point, not the speakers. Woo -
Yeah!!!! $50 Model 8S!!!! I don't know who to hate more, you or Gary.[] Rick I vote Gary. [] Woo
