  1. Does anyone know anything about the Shengya tube cd player? I've been seeing them for sale on audiogon and other places and would like to know if anyone has any first hand or even second hand knowledge.
  2. I guess you have to be leary of people who don't post their equipment and just take cheap shots at other people on this forum who have been helpful to say the least.
  3. I bought a scott off of Tom and I agree with what you guys said. He's a heck of a nice guy.
  4. I have a scott 222C that Ryan fixed for me. He didn't try to sell me on an entire rebuilt, he just fixed what was wrong and for a reasonable price. I really think cheap shots like that are way out of line and way off base and that's coming from someone who dealt with him personally. You might want to think about what you post before you do it!
  5. Maybe La Scala's but not klipschorns, It's not my kid, at least I hope not!!
  6. I know this is way off topic, but My friend is having her first child next week. Any ideas of a thoughtful gift for her and the baby?
  7. It's not really the snow it's the humidity!! We got four inches of snow in Pittsburgh today, but it was the .25" of ice that was bad. It's been one cold winter but I guess I'll just appreciate spring and summer more.
  8. How about the ultimate remedy Absinthe with a robitussen dm chaser.
  9. I wish I would have had them sent to work. I never had a problem before so I hope I'm not getting too excited over nothing. In the future I will have everything sent here to work that's a great suggestion
  10. I know this may be off topic, but since many of you ship and receive a bunch of stuff I thought I would as it here. I was supposed to get a 299c and a cabinet from two of the forum member ups today. I checked their website and they said they were delivered at 3:22. I just got home now and no packages and none at the neighbors houses. I called ups and they say that I need the shippers home addresses, even though I have the tracking numbers. So I email the members and jump through more hoops to trace this stuff. Any suggestions from anyone?
  11. I don't have a turntable, yet. I'm still looking. I guess I meant cables in general.
  12. What interconnecting cables do you think would be best for hooking up a scott 222c to a cd player and a turntable?
  13. I guess a serious whisky drinker is someone who needs to get wasted everyday to escape reality. I guess I consider myself an experimental drinker. I like to experience as many different tastes as possible. Moderation is the key in most things.
  14. Allan That's the only concoction that could wipe out the taste of scottish cooking!
  15. ray if you want bite try laphroig or lagavulin and you will be suprised.
  16. Single malt scotches are like people, no two are exactly alike, and some are total opposites. If you like lighter whisky then you should stick with the lowland or highland types. If your more adventurous then you should try the Islay or Campbeltown malts. THe islay's are my favorite particularly laphroig, lagavulin, and ardbeg if you can find it. It pays to purchase some of the airline size bottles to see what you like, but be careful much like tubes, fly-fishing and belgian beer it can be a painfully expensive hobby. Also since whisky doesn't age in glass like it does in barrels the older whisky can only be damaged by improper storage and not improve much
  17. I bet i'm one of the few that got the other 4F reference. The mentors would be proud.
  18. What is a good price for heresy's? Also what are your thoughts on using with a tube scott 222c?
  19. I don't think that I have room for another la scala, but stranger things have happened. I will check into the yamaha stuff. Thanks
  20. What type of amplifier would you use with a heritage home theatre system with la scala front and rears. Also what type of center would you recommend?
  21. Alan Do you scan your albums to get all the covers or do you have some site with all of them on it? It's great to see all the old album covers.
  22. Does anybody know where to buy metal scott knobs for a 222c?
  23. I have a 730 and 1985 industrial la scalas. I used the 730 for about three months and then got a scott. I agree that the 730 is one of the best bang for your buck deals out there.
  24. I use industrial two piece for my home two channel system. I use a Scott 222 to power all four. Mine came with connecting cables and you just plug your speaker wire into the top of the two banana plugs on the upper cabinet. I never had la scala's or any other klipsch before these and they sound incredible. I was thinking about changing the woofer but for now they are better than anything I ever had or anyone that I know has. I say buy them, I thought that 750 was a steal!
  25. I also agree with the HK comments. Before I got my Scott, a mere month or so ago, I bought a 730 from another forum member. It was so much better than my newer sherwood that I couldn't believe it. I hate to say this, but it's almost as good as the scott, not as clear, but if your into bass this is a great choice.
