Let me know on those purchases. I found an Iron and Wine live concert podcast on itunes(for free) that I have yet to listen too. I am now looking forward to it more based on this thread. If you are on itunes they have a good number of live music podcasts for free. A ton of indie stuff. Just do a live music search. In particular, NPR has some good stuff.

If you buy, the CD is worth it as it comes with a DVD that shows them live and an "instructional" video about how they do it. She's got a filthy mouth too, but in a good way.

Sponge-you are really raising the bar here. You are making me have to think about this. How about the Black Angels? I saw the Buffalo Killers live and liked them, but have not bought anything yet. Like it a little heavier? Try The Sword. You will not be disapointed. How about some rock Flamenco style? Try Rodrigo y Gabriella. You won't believe it's two people on acoustic guitars. The do a great version of Metallica's Orion and I like their original stuff too.

I love that site also. Be sure and sign up for the newsletter as it tells you I believe weekly what's new. I just wish they would sell more.

the musicgiants is interesting. The Linn site looks awesome, I am just more of a rocker still. I think we need the quality of Linn combined with a big catalog with something for everyone? Thanks for the direction from everyone that responded. I think sites like these at least give us hope that quality will not be completely forgotten.

After reading yet another post re: CD's on the way out and digital is in, I am getting concerned that we will not be able to buy high quality music. Heck, a lot of the CD's even sound like crap because they are being engineered to be ripped into MP3's. Itunes has the + option, but even that is just a little better MP3. So, if we assume no more CD's, are there enough of us that care to create a market for high quality downloads? I know we can continue to cling to our old favorite recordings in our old favorite formats, but how are we to discover new stuff? What do you think?

My two new to me favorites are The Black Keys and the Kings of Leon. If you love raw rock n roll, check both of these bands out and you will not be disapointed.

Waddaya mean, "mere La Scalas"? That's not my quote. I would never use the word mere when describing anything Klipsch-especially Heritage. Except for something like: "A mere quart of blood had spilled from my ears after listening to the concert on my Klipsch speakers!"

Classic uses the HPS 4000 system at the Tivoli and other theaters, that's considerably better than mere LaScalas behind the screen. that's what the guy at the Oak Park theater told me. It doesn't surprise me about the Tivoli. I have heard great things about that place and have yet to make it down there. Are they all the HPS 4000? Or, are some of the screens something else at the other locations?

I would probably still make the trip at least once just to check it out. Classic Cinemas here in Chicagoland hangs a Heresy about every ten feet all around you for surround. It's pretty cool.

www.classiccinemas.com in the Chicago Burbs uses Klipsch. La Scalas in the front and multiple Heresys hanging from the walls on the sides and in the back. It is really outstanding. They also have digital projection screens at some of their locations. I won't go anywhere else since I discovered them while out seeing 300.

you can go straight to the TV for the video, but as OB said, run the optical out on the DVD player(you will probably need to go into the DVD menus to turn this on) to the receiver. I got a pair of Custom 1 headphones. I like them so far. I don't use headphones a lot, so I went entry level and they seem to be just what I was looking for. It is all about the seal!! When I first put them in my ears and was not achieving the seal they sounded horrible.

I just sold my set of SF-1s I had pair of the SB-3s for about two days and then went back to where I bought them and upgraded to the towers. The bass extension is much better. They maybe don't have quite the "punch" in the mid range of the bookshelves, but I'm trying to remember back nearly five years. Either way you will be pleased with them up front given some good amplification. And worse case scenario you can put them back behind the couch and experiement with which you like more. But regardless you will be pleased over the speakers you have now. Yes, but for how long????????????[6] Where in Chicago are you? I am out in La Grange Park.

I agree and nice room!! I don't think you will notice with them going into the couch. Especially if you can leave a little room between the speaks and the couch.
