  1. I currently own the RW12 and a friend of mine owns the infinity mentioned previously. We have a mutual friend who is looking at subs in that price range, and I was wondering which you would choose. This friend has mtx monitor 12 mains, so he's already got two 12 inch woofers and those speakers extend down to 30-35 hz pretty strong. He's just looking for help in the lower range. He's also probably concerned more about overall decible output of the sub than necesarily really clean bass but he doesn't want it distorted of course. He's one of those loud music rockers who thinks his mtx's will outperform anything.
  2. How might I go about finding the closest dealer in my area that will be carrying these puppies. Klipsch only has a reference option on the dealer locator, but it sounds like the dealer has to be thx ultra 2 certified, am I right? I wanna hear 'em!
  3. Sorry, posted in wrong thread. Now how the heck did this happen?!?
  4. On my budget, I'm an xbox gamer, only because I can't keep up with the pc market and because high speed internet is too expensive. The xbox is easy to take to lan parties, and I play online at my friend's house. I would definately be a pc gamer if I could. You know you've played too much HALO when... -You start tossing frags in the bathroom to clear it before you enter -you go out and buy the halo special edition xbox the day it comes out for 20 dollars more than the normal one just because it is green and has halo stamped on the front and you already have a normal one at home! -there is an xbox in your car with its own copy of halo -you try to make a warthog out of legos -know how to pronounce Mjolnir
  5. Wow... I don't know what to say... Just a sec... okay, I'm done laughing. I have not read anything that funny in a long time. I am honestly speachless. Great auction though.
  6. Sorry to interupt here, but I would like to know if the RF15's are indeed made in china. That was the original post I beleive. Any moderators that could answer this? I heard the RCX line was made in China, but I thought all the others were still good ol' US manufactured. Lets answer this and then go back to the political debate.
  7. I don't know where he found that sticker. I have a pair of RF-15's and I haven't found anything of that sort. More info please
  8. Anyone with Far Cry played online yet? I hear its supposed to be a pretty amazing multiplayer experience. Don't own it yet myself, still trying to decide whether to get it for pc or wait until the xbox version is released.
  9. Anyone have rainbow six 3 or splinter cell pandora tomorrow. I'm really enjoying the live capabilities of these games. Oh, and does anyone know the xbox release date for far cry... Half Life 2? I'm really looking forward to these games, and Halo2 as well (even though the release date hase been pushed back 'till Sept.)
  10. ----------------- picking up the rsw15...need comfort... ----------------- I would need more than comfort, I'd cover my back in icy hot, and then go sit in my hot tub all night, that thing is heavey!!! JK. Its a great sub. You'll enjoy it.
  11. well m00n, I was going to do that, but the screwy things have screws way down inside, and I don't have a screw driver long enough to reach them. Only other thing to do would be smash the plastic cabinet around them. Also, I think the tweeters are already blown, and the drivers are about 2.5-3 inches. Like I said earlier...POS. I'm just not sure whether its worth the effort to take them apart. Otherwise I would probably build a new cabinet and combine the two into one speaker.
  12. I've got some pos aiwa speakers. I've been itching to hook them up to my denon avr. the speakers handle 5.4 watts peak at 3.5 ohms. My 1804 will put out 90 watts at 8 ohms. Is it safe to crank these suckers for fun or is there a possibility of damaging my avr? Thanks.
  13. So what you're saying is that I can safely set my fronts to large and they won't be receiving the really low frequencies as long as my sub is connected and subwoofer set to "yes" in the setup menu of my receiver? The sub will get the lfe signal and my rf15's will take over above that, so it's almost like another crossover setting from sub to mains. Then the rest of my system picks up on anything above the actual crossover I set. (80hz) Am I getting this correctly? Or is it still better to have my mains set to small? Thanks for all the help, just trying to figure this out.
  14. One more thing... to be using neo6, that means you must not have an optical or digital coaxial cable running from your dvd player to your receiver. (so I'm assuming you use rca cables) I would highly suggest getting a digital interconect as what you are receiving now is not true surround sound, but rather it is being compiled by your receiver. Perhaps, your reciver is not interpreting the signal from your source as having the extra .1 channel (the sub in a 5/6.1 setup). Try getting a digital interconnect and see if that helps at all.
  15. Check the manual volume level on your rw10, maybe your wife doesn't like bass, and turned it down. Other than that and your receiver settings, I'd say it sounds like maybe a circuit in your receiver went bad. Since your 2 ch. music would travel through a different processing circuit than your 6 ch. movies. Find a dvd that has both dts and dd options, and listen to it with both in a part that has some bass. If your sub comes to life in DD but not in dts, or vise versa, you've got receiver trouble. I own the 1804 and have never experienced anything of this sort. Sorry, I'm drawing a blank.
  16. wheelman... that can't be true because my sub still plays when the mains are set to large. My sub is still enabled. Is there any difference between the two options at all. Does anyone else have these same options on your receiver?
  17. The receiver has a few options. First it gives me the option to set any of my speakers to large or small. Now, I understand what each of these options means as far as crossover goes, but then it also gives me the option to have lfe (norm) or lfe + main. I understand that lfe norm sends all the low frequencies to the sub, and having it on + main sends them to the sub and to the front towers, but what is the difference between choosing lfe + main and just setting left and right fronts to large. I thought that "large" meant that it was a full range speaker and thus receives th lows also. Enlighten me if you will...thanks.
  18. Winter Park is great! It tends to lean slightly toward more advanced skiiers. If your planning on taking lessons, I haven't heard any complaints. I live in Fort Collins myself(about 3 hours away) so I get there a few times a year. I'll be just up the road at Copper Mountain over spring break. Have fun, just don't kill yourself!
  19. I own the RW12, and it definately deserves a look. You should be able to get a discount off the msrp. I honestly haven't heard the svs subs, but I would really like to as everyone here seems to have a pretty high opinion of them. Check out the RW12 though, I am very pleased with its performance.
  20. --------------- You all know what software easter eggs are right? I wonder how many little audio easter eggs they put in.... --------------- Don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but listen to the fight scene in the Matrix reloaded(the room with all the weapons) there are some strange popping noises with punches. Don't sound real natural. I don't know if you could really call it an easter egg though.
  21. Go with the reference series. If you don't, you will forever be wondering what it would sound like if you had stretched just a little more. If you get the RF7's and RC7 you know you're getting the best. The RF7s can bump with 10 watts of power, so you're 75 watt receiver is no problem as long as it won't "clip". You probably get discounts on receivers from best buy too I'm assuming, so make that your next goal. Don't hesitate, get the reference.
  22. You really like to show off that picture don't you ear...I think I've seen it in three... or wait maybe four different threads in like the pas month. pssst... I would be flaunting it too if I had that kind of setup. Hey, congrats on the sub
  23. Does this guy have an email adress? Or better yet a telephone number... or wait, an address! I'd like to pay a little visit to his house. He probably lives in a box under a bridge somewhere (explains why he's never heard horn loaded speakers before) and audiophile audition picked him up as an unbiased reviewer.(not to mention not even audio inclined) ...can't even find the acoustech website. "this new speaker line is named Acoustech and is a division of BIC America." If you want a laugh, go to the bic america website (www.bicamerica.com) I can't find acoustech or any relation to bic america. These speakers aren't anywhere else. Even if these speakers sound half way decent, would you rather own speakers from a company who barely knows how to make a website or from klipsch with forums, news, current and passed product specs, and customer support on their website. Just a thought.
  24. Couldn't squeeze into the RW12 could ya? In my opinion, a much better sub than the velodyne and I'm not a big fan of most boston subs either. Have a listen to all three at tweeters and see what you like.
