  1. Titan AE good music and the ice field bass is very cool!
  2. I should have bought that pair at the pawn shop for $350, huh?
  3. I would find it hard to believe they are giving you one (Tsunami Plus) for free. and as far as the exchange for the 4805, what they legally have to do is give you a working one, new or used, but I think they are supposed to inform you if its used. NOw Customer service wise, I would think it should be new , and probably thats what will happen. Oh, and hears a link from their website on the Tsunami Plus. http://www.digitalhome.com.au/HomeEntertainment/Projectors/Infocus/X2_Tsunami_Plus_Projector/149
  4. And I've had my ksw 12 for 6 years now with no issues at all. It may be a situation where you hear from the people who arent happy and not from those who have not had issues....
  5. I dunno about all of them, but I just recently went from a 6 year old Pioneer 525 to a new Sony 775 SACD/DVD player, both entry level, I guess, and there is a very noticable difference. the new one is quite a bit cleaner sounding from top to bottom. Enough of a difference that I went out and bought another for the system downstairs . My 14 year old son said the next day how he noticed the sound and picture were better. Maybe the old Pioneer was diein' and I didnt know it ...... funny part is the Sony was caught on an after Christmas sale at Circuit city for 99 bucks, what a good way to enter into sacd and beyond!!
  6. I just got a couple of Sony NS775V DVD/SACD players to replace a 6 year Pioneer DVD and also picked up Dark side of the Moon on that Hybrid style sacd and I am hearing stuff I never did on vinyl or cd. I need to get a few more, but am not really sure what to get yet.(jazz, classical...dunno) But what I've heard so far is pretty interesting. I think from what I've heard, alot is gonna depend on the masters and who does the re-mix so to speak.
  7. Sorry I gotta ask, but what was the recording MFSL LP ?
  8. You're gonna tell me that a supplier is making Klipsch wait that long for parts?! Whatever! If any manufacturer is having these kinkd of problems, and consistantly with their subs as klipsch has LF series, kw series and now the RS and RW series some one needs to have their butt kicked and then fired, this has been going on for years. I have a Klipsch sub now and its been fine since day one, but I've seen and heard enough about their amp and electronics issues that I will probably never buy another one, Its too much of a gamble for the return.
  9. You say its plugged into the preout jacks. Does your reciever have a sub out or LFE output? If so it should be plugged into that. And yeah it does sound like a reciever setup issue. settings for sub yes/no? so many varibles
  10. Try this link and see if there is anyone in your area that has a SVS you can listen too. http://www.audioenvy.com/(3ktvyx452jiqqnars3yaeq55)/default.asp
  11. Hey Ear. In all seriousness why dont the B4's interest you, Thought you would get a kick out of them?
  12. I think it is, am gonna do a little research first. I'm curious how much of an upgrade it would be from my ksw 12 that I have now. I know mines considered real low end on the Klipsch scale but is the rw that much better, thats what I'm curious, too.
  13. Just went to look at the web site...my bad, its a rw12 , not rsw12. But even so, I'm thinking of an upgrade from my ksw 12. Ehh, maybe I'll just hold out till I get enough for the svs. It may be a year,but..
  14. what are people spending on rsw 12's? This sounds too good to be true. Found a RSW 12 at a pawn shop for 349.00. Havnt heard it, but am assuming it works. Looks like brand new!!
  15. If audio IS your passion, then she needs to know and understand!! Ya gotta be honest and she needs to deal. I like audio and paintball, I dont play havoc on the household budget and I save a bit at a time to do this stuff. I'm not UNREASONABLE about it, so she needs to build a bridge and get over it!! And the post about buying jewelery was right, I dont ***** about that stuff and manicures and pedicures and the like. Hell, she has enough in that for a new set of RF-7's.... AS I told her one time, hey I'm at home...If you'd like I can stop buying my toys and start chasing women..take your pick, babe...she kinda likes my stereo!!
  16. Always looking for them, but 10 bucks at a garage sale ones are not an easy find.;-(
  17. Oh I will buy them when the time is right and maybe even from that dealer, just not from that salesman! May have been an off day, maybe 2000 people wanting to listen to his stuff and not buying, dunno. I have Klipsch now, and probably always will. He just chapped my checks,LOL.
  18. Chuckears, I've added about 2 inches to my waist because of Springfeild resteraunts!LOL My sister has lived there since 72 and my mom and dad lived there for 5 yrs before they passed so I've eaten there alot. I dont no if it's the number of restaurants or if no one there cooks at home but it seems like every place is always packed. Been to the chinese place just south of James river xway and national 2x and went to Bumsteads this weekend, Zios the weekend before. Sis lives in battlefield/brookline area and mom lived by Cox south so we eat down that way more often. The parents were both sick for the last few years so no too much time to get out and about, but will be venturing around more now when I get down there. AS far as the salesman goes, you pegged it, store and the salesman. By the way ,they have the new THX system right by the front end and it is beautiful too, sounded good from the short time I was there. Next visit I'll peek in the window to see who's on the floor before I go in,LOL. And if your in the KC area, you need to go to Audio Port, It's full of MArk Levinson, Wilson Audio, Tule, Revel,Proceed, Rel Subs, Lower end stuff ya know, but fun to drool on! I've asked them about carrying Heritage stuff, but they dont wanna sell the whole line just to get those..pity
  19. And see, Ear, That's what I have come to expect from Klipsch owners, Love of music and the pride to show off their equipment. That's why it threw me off when he acted like such a twit. Hell, truth be known I could have wrote him a check for a surrround sound system in K-horns. But I sure as hell wont from his shop, and wouldn't anyway since if I did I wouldnt have a wife to listen to them with anymore,LOL. I'm going to get a set, not until we move though. The house were in isnt right for K-horns. Walls arent right. It may be a few years... Tell you what though, that wood they were covered with was truly beautiful..
  20. Was in Springfield, Mo to visit my sister, and dropped by a local stereo shop whom I know is a authoized heritage dealer. He had a set of K-horns in the front room and they-are-beautiful.......Turns out they are his personal ones,Made in Austrailian Lacewood, only 20 made supposedly and autographed by P.W.K! Since he didnt have any others, I asked if I could hear them and what was the asking price, thats when he told me they were his own and there is no "asking price", he wouldnt even consider it, which make sense... And as for hearing them...no. He only fires them up for personal listening ,after hours. But what if I wanna buy a set....sorry. ??!!?? He does however have many other Klipsch products I can listen to, at that point I was taken back by the snobbish attitude, and told him I'd let others know of his helpfulness and as for buying from him....I would't even consider it...... THis jerk was looking at me like I was some kind of white trash. But I realized it wasnt me. It's him, he's a Audiophile snob. Klipsch doesnt breed snobbery, It breeds sharing and hours of " hey check this out and ohh, I love this passage, let me warm up the tubes here, and....you know what I mean. Heck , my father bought his klipsch and Denon at that store! I still get P.O.'d thinking about him,LOL. Up until now I thought the snotty snob crap was reserved for other high end stuff! Not Klipsch!! Bad Apple, Bad Dealer....
  21. OF course you realize there is a Khorn for sale here in the two channel forum with upgraded crossovers in St Louis? a Uhaul truck or traler would save you lets say 2500 after rental.....Just a thought..
  22. The lfe output is meant to feed a power sub, it does not feed it line level power, just a signal and then the subs own amp "does the work, so yeah, leave it on and hooked up. And I would still leave the herseys set to large and the crossover on the sub set to where the hersey's star to loose it, or slightly above. If they get weaker around 50, then set the sub to 60 or 75 hz. You really need to experiment with this due to amps, room acoustics and speaker placement. what I suggested works very well for me--in my house--with my speakers....
  23. I would continue to use the LFE output to the sub so that your not feeding the full spectrum signal and set the Hersey's to large, all others to small.IMO(except no sustitutes, your mileage may vary)
  24. I have reference and they need it, but have heard Khorns without and with and yes it does make a difference. Understand, what I heard them with contributed too. A friend auditioned his with a Sunfire Signature and then a SVS P2B (not sure which one). Complementary is a word that came to mind. It did extend the bass of his horns noticeably and gave it a presence it didnt have before. Very interesting, both these Subs blended well with the Horns and after an hour or so of different styles of music and DVD soundtracks it was like, Damn, thats what it needed!I didnt know it needed it, but...Damn! Lots of clean, non boomy, bottom end......very cool!
