  1. Gary, I truly believe that good things happen to good people: case-in-point would be your aquisition of the khorns earlier this year. However, I am starting to think you are pushing your luck, as obviously too many good things have been happening to you..............You're KILLING me here, man.....................we need you to spread some of that good karma onto the rest of us mere mortals doing the daily trudge. All kidding aside, BEAUTIFUL set-up!..........and we completely understand the "don't make a fuss over it if my wife is within earshot"..........you are not alone on that score. Best Regards, Patrick
  2. Artto, please do us a favor..............especially since you chose the original title to this thread, and CHANGE IT to something less personal. Maybe then it can die quietly. Oh my, hope springs eternal. Suggestions for the new title: I was only joking! I am not trying to start anything! Just teasing! Finally got a chance to demonstrate my record cleaning techniques!
  3. maxg, i agree garymd is a very deserving soul, but gee whizzzzzzzzzzz, he already got the khorns.........how much good luck can one guy stand??? LOL
  4. Allan, no need for you to offer the gift, but certainly a nice thing to do. I think anyone of us could come with a ton of reasons why we are worthy to receive it........................but I think maybe it should go to fini. We already know he has a great sense of humor, let's make sure he has quite a bit of soul as well. JMHO. p.s. no one can drive you nuts if you don't let them into your head. Anyone reading this thread knows it started as an attempt at humor, which soon went awry. best regards, patrick
  5. Bill and Anne, i have to concur with everyone else here: you are truly a class act. also, gary is a most worthy recipient, as he has been very unselfish in sharing information re tubes, music, perspectives, etc. he has frequently been a peacemaker and/or the voice of reason when others have gotten a bit too excitable. bread cast out on the water comes back 100 fold, so here is wishing you the best. patrick
  6. Travis, I just got your email and pm. Responded by email, appreciate the reply, especially since I've been in and out for most of the past several weeks.........and gosh, seems like i have a bit to catch up on...what with the departures, the prodigal son (or at least one) returning to warm embraces, etc................ah, life...........what would we do if it wasn't for music and the related components of audio, such as politics, religion, gun control, sex, race, etoh...........oops, i didn't say that, did i???........'twas my keyboard that took control. C'mon guys, lighten up, life is generally good....at least out here in calif. patrick
  7. fini, i also have never taken offense at anything you posted. generally i really enjoy your somewhat goofy (amy and trey, this is meant in a most complimentary way) sense of humor, your often thought provoking intellectual quips and look forward to meeting you some day.....if i am ever allowed to leave the central coast and migrate north. i will also admit that occasionally some of your quips are too esoteric for me to catch, but i figure that is my problem, and not yours!! we need people who make us stop and think.....and sometimes laugh at ourselves. patrick (ain't no saint)
  8. bumpity bump, oh c'mon, i need to have some fun with the vinyl too! thanks, patrick
  9. bump, bump......oh well, thought it was worth a try.......thanks, patrick
  10. bumpity, bump......the silence is deafening......patrick
  11. Roy, I had the impression that not everyone cruises all the forums like i do, so i posted it on three of them..........sorry if the cross-overs are annoying. patrick

  15. Amy, on behalf of all the gentlemen, as well as the distaff members, here on the forum, let me apologize for some of the degenerate photograghs that were posted by someone with serious social deficiencies. None of us would want our wives, mothers, daughters or even ourselves to have to view such things. You will always be a lady to us and we appreciate the job you do. Sorry for some of the imprudent, impotent and ignorant idiots that troll the area. Patrick
  16. actually the price is 859.00 for two........if you follow their link, no photo but they say condition is 7 on scale of 10
  17. ....reroofing your house...man, oh man, talk about good equipment (BB) blowing the roof off.........wondering if that is covered in the juicy music warranty
  18. Craig, I'll trade you------most of my emails are unsolicited ones offering me viaga or else some sort of penis enlargement. Spoken to the ladies at the office but received no complaints; they suggested I speak to my wife and ask if she had any complaints she wasn't telling me about....... audio emails i would enjoy; as it is, I think I got on someone's bad joke list.
  19. Dale, how would these (Clear Audio and VPI) compare to the Rega 3,5,etc.? thanks for any info.....didn't mean to (completely) divert your question gary. patrick
  20. I am still looking for a set of CW's in very good condition. I would like to get early 70's, with a veneer, and am willing to pay a reasonable price. I am in the central coast area (santa barbara/goleta)of california and can arrange to pick up in most of central or southern calif......heck, even a road trip to northern calif is doable. Promise to take care of them and keep them forever. Please contact me here or at patrick@mccarthykroes.com Thank you, patrick
  21. Hi Fini, ideally i would like early 70's, preferably in a veneer, and in near mint condition. i have previously posted (several months ago) WTB with no results.....but will do that again right now. thanks, patrick
  22. also posted in 2 channel: just trying to plan ahead abit. i may have located a pair of cw's on the east coast. if i am able to secure a deal, is it possible to beg, buy, borrow, rent, lease or otherwise use the vault for the journey??? if so, to whom do i speak, beg etc. thanks for any info, patrick
  23. just trying to plan ahead a bit. if i were to find a set of cw's back east that needed to come to the left coast, is it possible to rent, lease ,beg, borrow or steal the venerable vault????? thanks for any info, patrick
  24. gosh, Dean..........that sure sounds like a "Personal Attack" on my penmanship, or lack thereof------relax, I'm kidding. Patrick McCarthy p.s. don't tell anyone that I am a lawyer, wouldn't want to start a flame war here.
