  1. I need the KLF-C7 and the KSP-S6's. I would be willing to take either one's or potentially both. The shipping is pretty crazy and pricey for these speakers. I'm off work on a finger injury and for the right price I would consider going on a massive road trip/speaker pick-up and delivery/ for the right price that could go towards my speaker needs!?!
  2. It's good. I bought the cht-15 (newer model) for $400 (used). Its no RSW15 but it is a good bang for the buck.
  3. I am definetly going to be there for the first showing. As for the acting, the oringinal 3 movies had the same or worse. People still make fun of Mark Hamills acting but who cares still awesome movies. I agree with the Disney feeling in the last couple of movies but i am really looking forward to this one as it should answer alot of questions from when i was a kid and its always kind of neat when evil triumphs, just like ESB.
  4. We might as well start supporting the HD-DVD format! If Sony is approaching the idea of compromising their format with the HD-DVD format then that must mean things are going so great. Since when does Sony give up the war? HD-DVD is coming out in Sept 05, Blu-ray is said to be coming out mid 2006. How many people are gonna wait 10 more months to have high definition DVD's? Sure Bluray holds more data, but is it essential, probably not. A dual layered HD-DVD could hold a 3hour movie in hi-def with 9 gigs left in extra's. If you need more space then it would be 2 discs. The extra 20 gigs from a dual layer BluRay would always be handy but for the next few years, excessive. Todays video games don't even consume full DVD's yet. Rumors also hint that the X-Box2 is going to be released late 05 (this years big X-mas gift) and it is supposedly going to be HD-DVD. PS3 is not coming out until atleast mid 2006. Less than six months to go and we'll finally have High Def DVD'S
  5. I went through the same dilemma of uprgrading a sub on a budget less than a year ago, except I was getting rid of my Pardigm PS-1000 which I found significantly better than the KSW 10 and 12. My budget goal was around $400US. Many people suggested I just do it right and save up for the big boys RSW-15 or SVS-PB Ulta 12 or both. Well thats still on my list and i think I did very well at finding a good value sub that is definetly getting me through. I bought a Velodyne CHT-15 on Ebay for $400 even and it does very well, especially at the low end. Just another sub to consider. I did some auditioning and I found it to be better than the RW-12 but not as good as the RSW-15
  6. I have it set on Audio. I never noticed a real major difference between the two. Have you tried the foam in the port yet? Hope it helps! I bought mine on EBAY for $400 and I will probably never sell it as it will make an awesome sub for my future secondary HT. But I am craving the major slam of tight bass that is probably found in the 40-100 kz range that we probably all use to hear when we had nice 10 or 12" subs in car stereos. I had come to the conclusion a few weeks after buying the CHT-15 that I will have to eventually upgrade to the RSW-15 and or SVS Ultra's. By the sounds of your RSW-15 demo it sounds like that may be the way to go. Money sucks!
  7. I own the VSX-07TX and I had a problem with the subwoofer settings as well and both of our solutions could be remedied with the same treatment (My problem was that I wanted my sub to pound and rock along with my KLF-30's in stereo mode, BUT!!!, by setting the mains to large the stupid receiver does not use sub in stereo mode, the only way to get the sub working in stereo mode is set mains to small, it does sound good but man does it urk me knowing that I have to refer to my KLF-30's as "small"!!!) Anyway... my suggestion is to use the "B speaker" pre-outs or run speaker wire from the "B speaker" out on the receiver. This would atleast make it easily switched on and off using the "B speaker" on/off switch. Thought this might avoid some of the minor BS associated with using the main speaker outs?
  8. The sub is worth around $300, give or take a $100. It is not comparable to the newer subs with similar list prices. The SW-15 sold for around $2000, which is way more than the RSW-15 and not in the same league asthe SW amp is 200w and only goes down to 40hz. The SW series is much better than the KSW series and probably wouldn't surpass the RW series. Sorry if the repy bashes your sub, my buddy has the KT-SW (pretty much same sub but sold as a THX set) and it sounds great with his setup.
  9. Has anyone else tried blocking the port on a CHT-15? I emailed Velodyne to make sure I won't damage anything (some other fuorums mentioned a slight chance of damage when blocking ports, they may have been referring to totall blockage but better safe than sorry?) I am also looking to get more punch out of my system and I have also read that getting a good separate to powere my KLF-30's may give me the punch I am looking for. I am satisfied with the lows produced from the CHT-15, but then again I haven't heard an RSW-15 yet either!
  10. I also would like tighter bass with my CHT-15. Let us know what you think of blocking the ports. Could someone describe "breathable foam"? I would assume most staff ar home depots would say any type of foam is breathable. What is the best breathable foam to look for? Is there any more cons or risks associated with blocking ports?
  11. I second the KT-LCR. I have one on loan from a friend until I get a hold of a KLF-C7. I am using it with 30's so I know it would work fine with the 20's. It's a fair size too! What are you max dimensions?
  12. Phew! Thanks for the clarification Trey! It was a relief to hear that Klipsch continues to support an open and honest forum. How weird would the subwoofer section be without being able to mention other brands. This forum was a great tool for me when I bought my KLF-30's and was having a difficult time getting a good bang for the buck sub on my budget. When I asked for the suggestions of subwoofers with the best bang for the buck it would have been sooooo phony if the replies were restricted to the KlIPSCH RSW-15, 12, KSW 15, SW-15, THX-Ultra or perhaps the RW-12. I would not have accepted bias replies from a "Klipsch Only" forum. Klipsch has earned even more of my respect by the way this forum operates. As a long time fan I was comforted by Klipsch's obvious high level in confidence by openly running a forum that was open to bashing and having other products or brands praised/advertised. I'm sure many of us find shopping so annoying when the salesperson claims that anything other than their product sucks! A salesperson gains a little of my respect when they can openly discuss the pro's of their competition and still convince me why I should by their product. I am surprised by how many people would be sympathetic to Klipsch if they leaned more to "klipsch only" discussions. Like many have said before,"how boring and biased would that be". The idea that it is improper to go to someones house and complain or belittle is rude in a certain context. BUT, when it is done in a forum, amongst peers with similar interests in an open honest and free environment it is totally acceptable. I have several groups of peers with several types of interests and if the conversation is about where I could get bigger, better, cheaper steaks to throw on the BBQ or I'm given tips on how I could paint the trim or edging better I don't take it as an insult. Its taken as an opinion shared among friends. Some of those friends may leave thinking they'll buy the same steaks that I bought and others may try out the bigger better ones. Who knows, who cares! Whats important is that we are free at my house to exchange open honest unbiased opinions!!! This forum makes me proud of Klipsch for being confident enough in their product to run an open honest forum. Forums need to be free, my other love is corvettes and it drives me nuts when some vette fans can't appreciate some other sports cars. My friends can park their mustangs in my driveway and we all talk about how cool it would be to buy a Ferrari but when it comes down to it noone drives my vette and just like my Klipsch I still blush when they are screaming/roaring(loud sidepipes, he he)!!!!!! Sadly enough I had a limited budget, I ended buying the Velodyne sub to go with my 30's (it's good enough for now) but this forum has also convinced me to save up for that stack of RSW-15's!!!!! Anyway, enough rambling, it felt good to get that off my chest!!! Jonathan
  13. I am very interested to hear an amp run my KLF-30's. Does anyone have aa real good suggestion for me to get started with separates. I think I want atleast an amp that is 2 x 200 and then when I move the Elite VSX-07TX from the HT to the family room I can begin to build the system with more separates. Whats a good brand to start and expand with, Anyone? Maybe I should make a new post?
