  1. 'nuff said. So whatever redeeming qualities Monica Lewinski has are not enough for her to be worthy of your presence? You still consider her a fat skank, but Clinton (whom you agreed was "EQUALLY responsible" for what you refer to as the "fiasco") still meets your standards due to your political affiliation and contributions? HUH? I don't care if you swore him into office at his inauguration. If your only reason to consider Monica worthless is her sexual escapade with your hero, Bill Clinton, then shouldn't logic dictate that you find him equally repulsive? I believe the word I'm searching for is...uhh...oh yeah...hypocrite.

Is she a skank? Yes. Would I ever be caught dead with her in public? No. On the other hand . . . Was Clinton equally responsible? Yes. Was his behavior equally reprehensible as far as the whole sordid fiasco goes? Yes. Never said it wasn't, did I? ---------------- I didn't call you names, Allan. I didn't call Ms. Lewinski a fat skank, either. Again...that was YOU. One final question...Would you be caught DEAD in public with the impeached ex-president? And don't lie.
  3. Oh, PLEASE! ---------------- You don't have to beg, Allan.

I was having dinner with a really good customer of mine at the end of a long, LONG day when I look up and Monica Lewinsky is walking through the door with some guy in suit. Why ANYONE on EARTH would be seen in public with her I have NO idea, but maybe it was business? Anyway, on my way out I stopped at the table she was sitting at and asked her if it was worth it. She looked up at me and started to say something when the guy she was with started taking over her telling me to leave, to get away from them. In case you wan't to know, she's WAY better looking in person--doesn't look (or didn't then) look like the fat pig she appears to be in media pics. But she's still a skank. ---------------- So she's a skank, huh? And what thinks you of Mr. Clinton? In other words...if it was your 20 year old daughter who was seduced by the most powerful man in the world, would you call her a fat pig and a skank? Or would you reserve your anger for the slimeball who took advantage of her? Liberalism is a mental disorder! Regarding oldsters on The Forum...I think it's the title that's drawing the older (over 40) crowd. I know that there are a few of us who are in our early 30s. I myself am 32.
  5. 1) has anyone rebuilt the cabints to a larger size? ---------------- Why not just buy a pair of Cornwalls?
  6. Am I the only guy here who REFUSES to stack things on my speakers? Or is that an "acoustic treatment"?? (EDIT - Smiley face inserted) Nice setup. Looks like a great place to kick back with your favorite libation and let the music pour over you. I dig that couch.
  7. Nice job. $771 is a very respectable price.
  8. Now I've seen everything. There's a pair of LaScalas on Ebay (raw birch...nice, but no big deal) currently going for $2,504.99. Is this a mistake? Is somebody REALLY this stupid? Here's the item number for your entertainment - 5715632466
  9. I love trying different hot sauces. Unfortunately, most of them get caught up in "the heat" and forget about FLAVOR. So for me...I've narrowed it down to TWO favorites. For everyday enhancement of food I go with Tapatio. This little blurb from their website says it all: Give a kick to the taste of whatever you've got . . . It's not too mild and it's not too hot . . . Tap into the taste of Tapatío. Tapatío Hot Sauce adds a kick to whatever you're craving! Our special recipe enhances but never overpowers . . . With the perfect balance between mild and wild! Tapatío Hot Sauce is going to take your taste buds to another level So Tap into the taste of Tapatío! The other standby in the Gullahisland Household is the ubiquitous Tabasco. Anymore, I use it almost exlusively in my soup. Tabasco and Parmesan Cheese make ANY soup better. Clam chowder, chicken noodle, tomato, Italian wedding soup...It's ALL better with Tabasco and Parmesan

  11. Just posted for sale on AudiogoN. Check out this crazy horn-based system, complete with homemade wires, custom-built 300B amps, etc. Very tweaky, quite UGLY but probably sounds FANTASTIC! He's selling the whole lot for $12K. Not sure he's gonna' get it, but it's an interesting system and well worth the look. http://www.audiosold.com/sale/sale.htm
  12. As you may have aleady seen, I have posted the LaScalas on AudiogoN. My offer, however, stands to sell them to a forum member first. You'll also notice that my asking price is $100 less here on the forum. Triceratops - What happened? Did you receive my email?? BTW - My "new" (used) car has a BOSE stereo !
  13. That's a super nice 150wpc integrated amp. Classe makes some TERRIFIC solid state gear. A bit on the warmer side of neutral, but that makes it even BETTER with Klipsch. The only problem I've noticed with the Classe amps and preamp (can't speak to the integrated) is that the gain (voltage) is VERY high, making it difficult to attenuate the volume without it being either VERY LOUD or VERY QUIET! For $300, not a bad gamble.
  14. Back up for sale. Please read through the thread for more information and contact me via PM if interested. Thanks!!
  15. As the weekend progressed and there were no posts by you, I figured there must've been something going on. I'm not able to retrieve my home email from the office. For faster response, shoot me a PM. Thanks, Dan
  16. Neo ---- Did you get STUCK in the Matrix? No email, no PM, no phone call...
  17. ---------------- On 8/5/2004 5:07:20 PM Klipschfoot wrote: BTW, they are nice. She really cried, huh? I would like to have seen that. ---------------- You're CRUEL Yeah...She knew that the speakers were here husband's babies. He kept a pair of Chorus IIs, but the LaScalas were his pride and joy. Interestingly, he was a horn player (as am - was - I).
  18. Here's a picture of the Heresy that looks EXACTLY like the finish on my LaScalas. If one of you guys would be so kind as to remind me the "code" to post the picture directly HERE I'd sure appreciate it.
  19. ---------------- On 8/5/2004 4:30:27 PM tubelover wrote: What finish are they? ---------------- I figured this was obvious, but that's what I get for ASSuming. They are Birch Raw. They have clearly been oiled (BLO - Tung Oil?) and have a VERY attractive natural wood finish. They're quite beautiful. They're just like the Birch Raw Heresys that I sold last year. I'll attach a photo of the Heresy for you to view as a comparison.
  20. No preamp. The Sunfire is a 5-channel, 200 watt per channel amplifier. I bought it to bi-amp a pair of grossly inefficient monitors but have since sold the speakers. I've been using it lately to drive the Klipschorns and, while 200wpc is obviously WAY more power than they need, the quality of the sound is surprisingly good. It also has an interesting feature that allows you to connect the speakers to either a voltage source (traditional solid state sound) or a current source which reportedly approximates a "tube" amplifier. It's an interesting feature and works pretty well, but I prefer the more coherent sound of the voltage outputs. YMMV. The only other gear that I have is an Audible Illusions S-120 that I'd be willing to sell for $600 including shipping.
  21. Necessity to purchase a new vehicle forces me to part with my newly acquired '76 Klipsch LaScalas. They have (of course) the AA crossovers and are in extra nice condition. The only notable flaw is a couple of small chips in the finish on the back portion of the top of one speaker. (maybe a half inch?...small) These are the cleanest LaScalas that I, personally, have seen. Unfortunately, I'm unable to take pictures, but trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed. I'm in a bit of a bind and looking for a QUICK local transaction (Northern California). I need the cash. First right of refusal goes to Neo as he had indicated some interest previously. I am asking for $1,050. Look at the ratty cockroaches that have been selling on Ebay for $1,025 and you'll know that this a VERY nice deal. I bought them from the original owner (his wife cried when I picked them up...no kidding) about a month-and-a-half ago. As I stated, I need to take care of another obligation PRONTO, so if my price seems unreasonable, shoot me a "reasonable" offer - I just might take it if you can make immediate payment. Check my history on this board and my considerable feedback on AudiogoN (same username) to know that you're dealing with a very honest and reputable seller. Thanks!! BTW - Anybody wanna' buy a Sunfire Cinema Grand for $900 DELIVERED??
